The Kane's had no knowledge of the Wizarding World until their son got his letter. Abigayle and her brother were very fortunate growing up, being spoiled by their parents, although they didn't see them very often because of their long work hours. The Kane siblings spent most of their childhood with a nanny, only seeing their parents in the evening if they stayed up past their bedtimes. Mr and Mrs Kane loved their children but had a hard time showing it. As they grew up, Spencer started caring for his sister when their parents weren't home and they became extremely close. Abby often rebelled against her parents because of their frequent absence. She blamed them for what happened to Spencer. Both children were both considered weird in their schools and didn't really have any friends because of it. When Spencer got his Hogwarts letter, both parents were thoroughly surprised, but supported their son and his abilities. Abby was jealous but two years later, she got her own letter and joined her brother at Hogwarts.

HAVE THEY EVER LOVED ANYONE IN A PLATONIC WAY : Only her brother, who she has the utmost respect for and admires deeply.

WHAT WAS THE MOST TRAUMATIC THING THAT HAS HAPPENED TO THEM : It’s selfish to think, but the most traumatic thing that happened to her is when Spencer’s ‘incident’ happened to him. Abby was only six at the time but she was so scared that the same thing might happen to her. Her parents didn’t notice because they were always so busy with her brother, but Abby developed anxiety about a lot of things at a young age. She didn’t like being left alone or sleeping without the light on at night. As she got older she managed to grow out of those things but the trauma still haunts her sometimes.
WHAT WAS THE BEST THING THAT HAS EVER HAPPENED TO THEM : Going to Hogwarts and getting away from her lousy parents whom she blames for everything bad in her life.
WHAT IS THEIR PERSONALITY LIKE : Abby has a sort of spikey personality, although she is very caring. Like her brother, she has trust issues but isn’t as well put together as he is and her trusting issues aren’t nearly as bad as his. She is very social and likes to make friends but her trust issues can put a damper on her relationships. Because of her past, Abby has a pretty good judge of character and will gladly voice her opinion of you to anybody. She is rebellious and doesn’t enjoy being told what to do, although coming to Hogwarts has helped that issue some. She still likes to disobey and gets caught out after curfew a lot. She would be extremely smart, like her brother, if she applied herself to her schoolwork but she just doesn’t put the effort in. She likes being in trouble because it draws attention to herself, which is something she didn’t have while growing up.
HOW WOULD A STRANGER DESCRIBE THEM : Sweet but sassy.
HOW WOULD YOU, THE WRITER, DESCRIBE THEM : Deep down, Abby is just looking for somebody – besides her brother – to pay attention to her. All her life her parents have neglected her and all she wants is to be accepted copmpletely by someone else. She puts up this wall to hide the side of her that is broken and begging to be put back together.
WHAT DO THEY DO IN THEIR SPARE TIME : Play the piano, hang out with her friends.
DO THEY HAVE ANY SPECIAL MAGICAL ABILITIES : Fairly good at riding a broom but doesn’t really enjoy playing Quidditch and would much rather watch. She is also rather good at her Potions class.
