James smiled as @catalina laughed. It had been just earlier that week that he'd asked the younger Hufflepuff out. It had been nerve wracking, to say the least. Not only was she the daughter of a professor and a rich Spanish woman, but she was also stunning. Caty had a natural beauty he wasn't sure she saw all the time. She was incredibly kind and knew how to lift a person's spirits with laughter. James in no way regretted asking her out, they were having a fantastic time together.
When James had begun planning the date he hadn't been sure where to take her. He'd settled on Puddifoot's after deciding a girl like her wouldn't mind the tearoom. She'd been slightly surprised when he'd pitched the idea, but she hadn't opposed.
James had met her in the Entrance Hall. They had walked to the village together, hands entangled. When they'd arrived at their destination, they had taken a seat closer to the edge of the crowded café. James was facing the inside of the room while Caty had an excellent view out the window. So far they'd been enjoying themselves, but a glint of red caught James' eye followed by the sound of a familiar voice.
James turned his head slightly to find Eden Crane sitting at the table next to them. She was speaking with a waitress. He couldn't help himself from blurting out and exclamation of surprise. "Eden? What are you doing here?". He surveyed her companions, recognizing all of them. Cadwell was a member of Slytherin's quidditch team, and he had met Maddie Proctor while out on the pitch. She had been with Eden. The final member of their party was one Jason Colt. James' eyes narrowed slightly, Caty escaping his mind briefly.
