“Vine wands are among the less common types, and their owners are nearly always those witches or wizards who seek a greater purpose, who have a vision beyond the ordinary and who frequently astound those who think they know them best.” Vine wands seem strongly attracted by personalities with hidden depth. These wands are very sensitive to sensing their owners and can emit magical effects upon the mere entrance of their master coming into a room.

Appearance: He is slim but toned, and tall but not lanky. He has short brown hair, a medium skin tone, and golden brown eyes. Is usually seen wearing a smart suit.

Personality: Driven and intelligent, although he is isolated and has no friends or family. He doesn’t know how to relax and although his smiles come easy they rarely reach his eyes. He is a little bitter and ignorant of dark magic, all he knows is what he has read in books. He isn’t a cruel person, but his need to prove himself drowns out all else, including how to live beyond his shop.

What He Loves: Relics, facts, accomplishing a task perfectly, travelling (although he hasn’t done any)

What He Hates: Relying on people, his grandparents, people who have the world handed to them without having to work for it, not being able to sleep

History: Miles was born to a wizard Father and a muggle Mother in the heart of London. His parents were incredibly rich from his Mother, and from a young age Miles was taught how to present himself and act appropriately. His Mother, Jaqueline, was the only daughter of a wealthy businessman and most of their money came from her. She was a self-obsessed woman and socializing was the only meaning in her life. His Father, William, travelled with his work and often brought Miles gifts from various countries, usually related to dark magic in some way. This was when his fascination with artifacts started.

William was a supporter of Voldemort despite his wife demanding he have nothing to do with it. She rejected magic in all forms unless it brought her more money. William ignored her and left for several months to follow him. Out of spite, Jaqueline slept with William’s brother and fell pregnant with a son. William didn’t know this until he returned after the war and found the baby. Enraged, he murdered his wife and brother but spared the child. Mile’s grandparents took his half-brother to live with them and allowed Miles to live as a house worker, only offering this kindness because he resembled their daughter.

When Miles was old enough and had left Hogwarts, he continued studying artifacts and began collecting them professionally until he was able to open a small shop with the money he’d saved. He doesn’t know anything about sales, but is determined to stand on his own feet without his grandparents help. He has nothing to do with any of his surviving relatives, or his brother.
