Mila went about her usual night. Flirting with the fat, old men that frequented her bar as an escape always got her fantastic tips, but her mind kept wandering back to Liam Blackwell. She could feel his gaze on her as she fixed countless drinks, she even felt a small bubble of jealousy as a brunette tried to flirt with him. It was the first time in ages that she had felt physical attraction, recently she'd been far to busy to even consider looking.
Mila's thoughts were interrupted by a rather rude call from one of the bar's regulars. This behavior was usual from the man, but this time he was met with an opponent as Liam Blackwell angrily stormed over to him.
Mila swore quietly, immediately making her way over to the situation. She was surprised that Liam had stood up for her, that had never happened before. If it hadn't been for the fact she could see a fight brewing in her bar, she might have let him continue. Instead she slipped her slim body between the two men, her hand resting on Liam's chest. The older man hadn't even had the chance to respond before Mila was gently pushing Liam back towards where he had been sitting. "Don't let them bother you. That only ever makes it worse." she offered him a small smile, shocked at the fact she was showing this man, this stranger, bits of her compassion. "Thank you." she said, her voice conveying her sincerity. Mila turned to the rude man who had been the cause of Liam's anger, immediately changing her attitude and serving him his drink.
