Wand Wood Description: The unfounded belief that only purebloods can produce magic from elm wands was undoubtedly started by some ignorant elm wand owner seeking to prove his own blood status for this wand has been matched with Muggle-borns as well. The truth is that elm wands prefer owners with a bold presence, magical dexterity and a certain air of dignity. Of all wand woods, elm produces the fewest accidents and produces the most elegant charms and spells; these are sophisticated wands, capable of highly advanced magic in the right hands.



Appearance: Meredith has the same golden hair and grey eyes as her sister Melanie, though on her they appear more striking rather that girl-next-door. She's regarded as a very beautiful girl and had potential to go far in a career as a model. She wears some makeup, though she prefers to keep her appearance more natural. The light splattering of freckles across the bridge of her nose have always bothered her.
Meredith enjoys dressing up for even everyday occasions, but she's hardly shy to t-shirts and jeans.

Personality: Meredith Wood, though a very fun and flirty young woman, is also a very strong one. She's a leader who knows how to get people to believe in her cause and could have done brilliantly in Slytherin were she not so brave and noble. Rather than being the one to join the revolution, she'd be the one to start it. She has a taste for some of the finer things in life and her one wish is to help everybody achieve the same standard of living she has. Though serious at times, she knows how to laugh and joke in nearly every situation. She has a warm heart and a fiery passion that no other can compete with.

What He/She Loves: Family, traveling, her job, pineapple, old movies, volunteer work

What He/She Hates: Quidditch, being distracted, dating, commitment

History: Following their marriage, Katie found out she was pregnant. Shortly after the third anniversary of their dating, Meredith Arabella Wood was born. Oliver, then 28, was near the end of his professional Quidditch career and was instead offered a position coaching the reserve team. This gave him the opportunity to care more closely for his daughter while allowing Katie to finish off her career.

Over the next few years of her life Meredith welcomed two siblings, Drew and Melanie. The three of them got on well enough, though Meredith was three and four years older. Her parents remained very involved with their careers in Quidditch, though both of them ended up coaching. Meredith grew up alongside Drew and Melanie, and eventually Margaret, on the Quidditch pitch. Unfortunately for her parents, she quickly grew to despise the sport. When your entire childhood seems to consist of Quidditch it's hard not to grow sick of it.

Meredith's starting at Hogwarts was a welcome change from a locker room full of sweaty players. At school she was sorted into Gryffindor and quickly made plenty of friends. She supported her house team, watching all the games. She would have made the team herself had she been bothered to try out.

In the summer before her 5th year she was offered her first modeling gig. Her mother initially refused to let her go, something which caused quite the war in their household, but after some convincing she relented.

Meredith's Hogwarts years were filled with drama. She was the "it" girl. Plenty of gossip and rumors swirled around her and her friends for most of the years she was in school. When she was sixteen Meredith entered her first serious relationship. For her, it felt like forever. Unfortunately her boyfriend did not feel the same and after their graduation he admitted he'd cheated on her. This was her first real heartbreak and led her to have some trust and commitment issues in following relationships.

After her graduation from Hogwarts Meredith took a few small modeling gigs over the summer before deciding she wanted a real career. She applied for several jobs and, shockingly, got offered one as an Unspeakable.
