The Cold Never Bothered Me Anyway

"Dead puppies." Noxie nodded in confirmation, hoping that thinking about something so awful would help him. She had read enough fiction books to know that thinking about bad or ugly things was sometimes just what one needed to calm themselves. She dug her cold fingers into the snow, still staring at the ground as he worked himself out. When he finally spoke again, she actually looked up. At his face. And then the looked was gone and she was rising to her feet, eyes focused on twirling hair around her fingers as she normally did.
"Oh but... Honeyduke's has taffy." Noxie pressed, hoping he wasn't actually going to leave. She felt her heart sink at the very idea, wondering why he would o such a thing. Had something so simple as a normal physical reaction of male puberty ruined the rest of their day? Perhaps... but then again... No. No, she wasn't going to let it. She was having too good of a time with Zeke to allow it to end just because he felt embarrassed for a couple of minutes. That just was not acceptable in the least.
"Zeke Noble, you listen here and you listen good. I don't give two flying coconuts what goes on in your pants. We're going to Honeyduke's... I mean.. if you want to. They have taffy." Noxie stated, trying to be bold but simmering out towards the end because she didn't want him to think she was being demanding. At the same time though, she wanted him to. She wanted him to do as she said and not worry about what had happened. It had been awkward and completely mortifying (enough so that her face was still as red as a beet) but she wasn't going to let that get in the way of their nice day. Although, she supposed it would have come out better if her voice had any volume above a loud-whisper to it at all, but then... that was just the way it was.
