Ministry of Magic Careers
All information gathered from Harry Potter Wiki. Reply below with your character name and the job position you'd like be added to.
Aurors
"An Auror's job is to hunt down and capture Dark Wizards, once a criminal is capturesd they are generally handed over to the authorities. It is not uncommon for criminals to resist arrest; some choose to fight to the death rather than let themselves be captured, such as Death Eater Evan Rosier. The Ministry also enlists them to guard high profile targets such as, Harry Potter, during the 1996-1997 school term and the British Prime Minister had an Auror bodyguard, posing as his secretary, to protect him against the possibility that Lord Voldemort might take control of him, to gain access to various Muggle resources at the highest level."
Improper Use of Magic
"Responsible for investigating offenses under the Decree for the Reasonable Restriction of Underage Sorcery and the International Confederation of Wizards Statute of Secrecy. The Decree prohibits an underage wizard or witch from performing magic, while the Statute of Secrecy prohibits wizards and witches from performing magic in the presence of Muggles or in a Muggle-inhabited area. On receiving intelligence reports of a violation of the Decree, a note is sent to the offender detailing actions that will be taken by the Office. First-time offenders are usually let off with a warning while extreme cases may be referred to the Wizengamot. Thus, it appears that the Improper Use of Magic Office deals with offences that are more regulatory in nature than criminal, as the latter would be dealt with by Hit Wizards or the Auror Office. However, penalties can still be harsh."
Wizengamot
"The Wizengamot is wizarding Britain's high court of law. It predates the Ministry of Magic itself, dating back to the days of the medieval Wizards' Council. Its administrative headquarters are located in the Department of Magical Law Enforcement of the Ministry of Magic, whilst the trials take place in the dungeons of the lower levels. While court is in session, members wear plum-coloured robes embroidered with a silver letter W . The Wizengamot is made up of around fifty members. The selection process is unclear, though the Minister for Magic appears to have some control over selection or deselection. In addition, a Court Scribe acts as stenographer. The Minister for Magic, Senior Undersecretary to the Minister, and Head of the Department of Magical Law Enforcement preside over the Wizengamot."
The Wizengamot Administration Services
"Its functions seem analogous to Muggle court registries; this would typically include maintenance of court documents, hearing dates, judges' schedules, and the administration of legal proceedings."
Detection and Confiscation of Counterfeit Defensive Spells and Protective Objects
"Its purpose was to confiscate fake protective spells and charmed objects (such as cursed sneakoscopes, or in one particular case, a medal that turned the user orange). It was unclear as to the purpose of making these devices, whether it be simply profiteering, or if it was something darker, as some of the confiscated articles were highly dangerous."
The Muggle-Worthy Excuse Committee
"The Muggle-Worthy Excuse Committee think up excuses that will explain magical happenings to Muggles. Unlike the Office of Misinformation, who becomes involved in only the very worst magical-Muggle collisions and liaises with the Muggle Prime Minister, this committee deals with the more minor incidents."
The Accidental Magic Reversal Squad
"The Accidental Magic Reversal Squad was a division of the Department of Magical Accidents and Catastrophes responsible for reversing the effects of magical mishaps caused by inexperienced witches and wizards, those who had not learned to control their magic, or those who may not have been very skilled. As memory modifications are required, it is possible that Obliviators are included into the squad."
The Committee for the Disposal of Dangerous Creatures - Beast Division
"The Committee is responsible for the execution of any magical creatures deemed to be a threat to the wizarding world." People working in this office are considered 'Executioners'.
The Centaur Liaison Office - Beast Division
"Since its inception, no Centaur has even used the Office. In the Ministry of Magic, the phrase "being sent to the Centaur Office" is an in-joke meaning that the employee in question is about to be sacked. "
The Dragon Research and Restraint Bureau - Beast Division
"The Bureau is presumably responsible for all dragon-related services provided by the Ministry of Magic. The famous Magizoologist Newt Scamander spent some time working with the Bureau, using the research trips abroad to further his knowledge of magical creatures. "
The Ghoul Task Force - Beast Division
"The task force is called upon to investigate circumstances in which ghouls move in to residential areas and become a problem for the inhabitants."
The Werewolf Capture Unit - Beast Division
"The Unit is presumably tasked with the capture of any werewolves deemed to be a threat, although, to judged by the largely unimpeded activities of Fenrir Greyback, they may not be the best funded or highest priority segment of the Department. "
The Werewolf Registry - Beast Division
"Is part of the Beast Division of the Department for the Regulation and Control of Magical Creatures. The Registry maintains the Werewolf Register. At around 1964, the Registry was inadequate and ill-maintained, as the council did not recognise Fenrir Greyback as a werewolf, and he managed to evade persecution for the deaths of two Muggle children by pretending to be a Muggle tramp. "
The Goblin Liaison Office - Being Division
"It is the section which takes care of the magic economy and the relations between goblins and wizards. Cuthbert Mockridge headed the Office in 1994, but shortly after he was replaced by Dirk Cresswell. It appears to be a highly respected field, and the head of the office is a highly regarded post."
The Office for House-Elf Relocation - Being Division
"The Office is presumably responsible for the allocation and reassignment of house-elves. Newt Scamander spent two years working in the Office after joining the Ministry of Magic, and described it as "tedious in the extreme.""
The Spirit Division - Being Division
"It deals with all duties and problems concerning those magical creatures classified as a "Spirit" by the Ministry of Magic.
As mentioned by Newt Scamander, ghosts objected to the prejudice against the living-impaired implicit in their being classified as Beings (they consider themselves Has-Beens), so they're handled by the Spirit Division."
The Pest Advisory Board
"Referred to as the Pest Advisory Bureau or the Pest Sub-Division by Newt Scamander, is a service of the Department for the Regulation and Control of Magical Creatures in the Ministry of Magic. Its role is to provide assistance with serious Bundimun infestations of wizarding homes, deal with serious infestations of Chizpurfles, take responsibility for the Ghoul Task Force (possibly), and maintain a pack of a dozen albino bloodhounds, to deal with Nogtails."
"Is an office in charge of overseeing and assessing trading practices within the wizarding world, as well as passing international legislation regarding trading standards. Judging from Percy Weasley's report on the standardization of the minimum thickness for imported cauldrons, this was where he was employed when he first joined the Ministry of Magic in 1994."
The International Magical Office of Law
"Monitors the laws and policies set down by the International Confederation of Wizards, and advises Britain's Minister for Magic and the Wizengamot on matters of international law in order to prevent contradictions between British magical law and its international counterpart. The Department of Magical Law Enforcement actually enforces the international policies and laws of the International Confederation of Wizards on British soil, albiet often relying on the advice of the International Magical Office of Law. "
International Confederation of Wizards
"Is a wizarding intergovernmental organisation, roughly equivalent to the United Nations. British seats on the International Confederation of Wizards are probably selected by the Minister for Magic, possibly subject to the approval of the Wizengamot.
The International Confederation of Wizards is headed by a person who holds the title "Supreme Mugwump". The first appointed Supreme Mugwump was Pierre Bonaccord. However his appointment was contested by Warlocks in Liechtenstein, due to his opinions on stopping Troll-hunting and rights for Trolls. Liechtenstein, who had been dealing with several nasty Troll communities at the time refused to attend the first conference, causing trouble for the new institution. The previous leader was Albus Dumbledore."
The Floo Network Authority
"Is a Ministry of Magic board that establishes, maintains, monitors, and regulates the Floo Network. Employees of the authority have the power to observe and monitor Floo Network connections, and may eavesdrop on conversations held through the Network. Such workers are known as Floo Network Regulators."
The Broom Regulatory Control
"Is part of the Department of Magical Transportation in the Ministry of Magic. This particular branch is in charge of managing the usage and maintenance of magic Brooms and is located on the sixth level of the Ministry of Magic Headquarters. There has never been any mention of licencing requirements in order to use broomsticks, even racing brooms like Harry Potter's Firebolt. The Broom Regulatory Control may be responsible for regulating the manufacturers of magical broomsticks, rather than policing their users."
The Portkey Office
"Is a division of the Department of Magical Transportation in charge of managing the usage and maintenance of Portkeys. Consequently, it seems like a reasonable deduction that the Portkey Office is responsible for authorizing the creation of Portkeys (and possibly may regulate their use once they have been created, as well) Since Portkeys, according to Arthur Weasley, are often made from items that look like rubbish, and since there are restrictions on enchanting Muggle objects for fear of their falling back into Muggle hands at some future date, it seems reasonable that objects enchanted to function as Portkeys should be kept track of."
The Hall of Prophecy
"Features shelves containing records of prophecies, though many of these records, if not all, were destroyed when part of a battle between Death Eaters and Dumbledore's Army members occurred in the Hall in 1996. Its existence was long rumored within the general wizarding community, but never confirmed by the Ministry itself until 1996." Unspeakables collect and safe-keep prophecies, the people who work here are called Keepers of the Hall of Prophecies.
The Death Chamber
Uspeakables devote themselves to the study of death.
The Brain Room
"The concept of thought and all related subjects are studied in this chamber."
The Love chamber
"Is a room behind a door that remains locked at all times and which cannot be unlocked by Alohomora or magical unlocking penknives. According to Dumbledore, behind the door is the most mysterious subject of study of the department, and the most powerful force ever to exist in the universe — which is known as "Love". It may also be used in attempts to understand and duplicate the magical protection self-sacrificing love creates, the only magic strong enough to repel the Killing Curse. There is said to be a large fountain of Amortentia in the room."
The Space Chamber
"This is a dark room full of planets floating in mid-air. Presumably, it is from this Chamber where Wizards study the aspect of space, as it is one of the limits of magic (along with time). Visitors may find themselves floating as well."
Time Room
"It can be assumed that study in the time room has led to the discovery and creation of the ability to magically manipulate time through Time-Turners."

The British and Irish Quidditch League Headquarters
"Was established in 1674. Due to the need to maintain anti-Muggle security, the professional League was formed of the thirteen best teams at the time, and all others were asked to disband. Amateur teams are still permitted, once they meet departmental requirements. Each year, the teams compete for the League Cup. The teams have also competed for the Josef Wronski Award for Excellent Pitch Skills and individual players for the Dangerous Dai Llewellyn Commemorative Medal. Teams from the league also participate in the European Cup. The league falls under the authority of the Department of Magical Games and Sports."
