Ember laughed, rubbing her nose against the kiss she'd left on Sophia's cheek, spreading out her saliva of friendship. She watched as Eveleen swung down to get the box from under the bed, and was only momentarily tempted to tickle her friend. It would have been too easy a target thiugh, not the least bit challenging at all, and if Eveleen flailed and fell off the bed... Well, it might just reiterate her fear of heights. No, best to just snuggle Sophia's cheek.
As Eveleen came back up and pulled out the fantastical Muggle camera that spit photos out like magic, Ember moved back, out of the way, so her best mate could take a picture of their new friend. She watched with awe, as the photo clicked and then, shot out. She accepted it from Eveleen, face dead set with absolute seriousness as she used both hands to flap the photo up and down. Eveleen had told her when they first used the camera, that there was an exact art to shaking the photos and if you didn't do it right, a boggart would eat the soul of the person in it. Of course... That had been after she'd dragged the Ravenclaw up onto her broom and pelted out over the lake with no regard for the screaming in her ear.
The picture came out, Sophia looking pretty as always, a little surprise on her face. Ember grinned, kind of wanting to pocket it, but knowing that was against polly-wad rules. As she was busy admiring it, Ember felt herself tugged, and blinked, allowing the real Sophia to clutch her close. She smiled, resting her chin on the Hufflepuff's shoulder, smiling, even after the photo had popped out.
And Sophia... She seemed so happy! The other girl's exuberance at something as simple as taking pictures with friends was so lovely and adorable, Ember couldn't help but laugh. She reached out, grabbing hold of Sophia's chin, trying to keep a straight face and failing. "If you don't know what to say, then kiss me... Like I did you. We must confirm the spittle friendship bond!" The Gryffindor declared, eyes shining brightly. Her smile faded quickly though, as she pondered something over in her head. Sophia was their friend now... Close enough to be allowed into the secret chamber of Eveleen's bed and involved in polly-wads... And she knew what it was like to be sad and have struggles. "And... And then you can... You can say 'Happy birthday, Ember.'" She whispered, not having shared such information with anyone but Eveleen before. But... Eveleen and Sophia were much different from all of her Gryffindor mates.
