Albus had never been an early riser, unlike other people who would remain nameless. He didn't understand anyone who woke up voluntarily before eleven o'clock and he never would. Even now, at two in the afternoon, Albus was still terribly groggy. Of course the walk to Hogsmeade had woken him some, but sitting here by himself in a creaky old booth with the sun warming through the windows, waiting for his friends to arrive for lunch, his eyes were drifting closed again.
"Wake up nitwit." Came the demanding voice Albus loved to loathe, startling him from his dazed state. Albus' dark eyes went cold as they regarded the frosty brunet. However they softened when she placed a cup of coffee down in front of him. They had been together way too long it seemed, she knew how he worked. Taking a hearty sip of straight black coffee, he watched as Andrea took a seat in the booth across from him. She was looking particularly worn down that morning as well but Albus knew the transition from home to Hogwarts was always hard for Andrea. He didn't really know why that was, but to be honest Albus didn't want to know. Her home life wasn't something she talked about and perhaps there was a good reason for that.
"When is Maverick going to get here?" She asked tapping her glossy black nails against the table impatiently.
"Am I not enough for you, Sweetness?" Albus asked sarcastically, "Are you getting tired of waiting to dig your claws into your next victim."
"Hardly my type," Andrea scoffed before her icy gaze became amused. "But apparently not yours." Albus blushed thinking about the brief kiss they had shared that day in the dormitory.
"He told you?" Albus asked, growing angry. He didn't like his business being spread around without his consent.
"No. I can tell you've been slutting around." There was a full blown grin on Andrea's face now and Albus couldn't help but laugh at how misdirected she was. Albus and Maverick hadn't done anything to upset his "fragile sensibilities", at least not yet. However, Albus didn't mind letting the girl across from him think that, maybe she would keep her paws off him a little longer that way. Andrea though was not as dim as Albus thought her and realized at his laughter that something was off. She didn't know what exactly, had she been wrong to assume? Or had Albus another partner besides Maverick?
"Maybe I'll see you on the corner then." Albus teased and Andrea's cheeks colored at the distasteful joke. The two fell into silence, Albus silently amused as Andrea's ire only brewed for the male across from her. Hearing the door of the old pub open, both serpents looked in it's direction with expectant gazes.
