Logan's heart broke a little bit for Maddie. What kind of person just abandons their own baby. Logan's parents had divorced, but his father hadn't completely cut ties with them. Though he would have preferred never seeing his father again rather than being subject to the hell that was his home life. Logan's biggest place of abandonment was with his mum. She'd killed herself, hadn't given a second thought to the little boy she was leaving behind and what might happen to him. He was angry at her, he'd always been angry at her. At the same time he understood. He understood wanting to end your own life because he'd felt the same way. Sometimes, it seems better to just end it all than try to go on. "For the record Maddie, she was missing out on more than you ever missed out on without her."
Logan didn't know exactly what to tell her in exchange. As much as Logan trusted the blonde, there were too many things he had never told anybody. Almost everything about his was a secret, dark secrets too. His stepmother was one of the biggest, but something didn't feel right about telling her about that. It felt as if it would only do more harm than good to tell anybody about that. It had been months since he'd had his last little "episode". In fact, he hadn't had one since the day he met Maddie. She had made him better. Rather than forcing himself to live in the future or reverting back to the past, he'd been enjoying the present. He didn't want to scare her away with the thoughts of his darker past, but maybe she wouldn't mind.
"I told you about my mum already." his voice cracked slightly, his mind already returning to everything he'd been trying to escape. He really didn't want to kill the cheerful mood. "Well I-" he paused looking at the cheerful smile on her face. Anything he told her would destroy that. It was much better if she blissfully ignorant to his past, for the time being anyways. "I was a hatstall." he finished, he could tell her the darker stuff at some later time. There were quite a few people who knew about this, but most of them had graduated. It was only his year now. "I must've sat on that stool for hours. It was terrifying." he laughed at his eleven year old self. "You can imagine, right? A muggleborn at Hogwarts and the Hat couldn't sort me. I thought I would be sent home!" And home had not been a place he wanted to go.
