Sophia took a long look at Ember Stonefyre's arm, then pulled it very gently around so Ember could rest it on the banister. A quick, very gentle series of touches told Sophia that neither the upper or lower arm was broken, and that Ember's shoulder was still in place. Based on the amount of pain, Ember was trying to hide, however, Sophia knew something was terribly wrong. It wasn't until she inspected Ember's elbow that she found the real damage, and winced without meaning to. A sprain or dislocation would be easy to deal with, a broken bone on it's own far more simple, but the elbow required a great deal of precision. The spell involved Sophia knew about, but had never cast, and she knew that doing it wrong would carry consequences that only a Skele-Gro Potion could cure. Added to that, Ember was heading to Quidditch practice, so the pressure was definitely on as Sophia considered her options.
"Your elbow's broken. Alright, you'll need to make a choice, my Lady Knight," Sophia said in a tone trying to make light of the situation. "I know a spell that will heal this entirely. However, I've never actually cast the spell, and if I do it wrong, the results would mean you would HAVE to go to the hospital wing. I'm about 80% sure I can do this, but that is a rather significant margin of error. If, on the other hand, I do nothing, you'll have to immobilize that arm for several weeks unless you go to the hospital wing, which I don't think is something you'll want in either case. So, those are your choices. We can take the risk and let me try to heal it, you can go to the hospital wing now and get it healed up by someone who's actually had practice with the spell, or we can immobilize it while you heal on your own, and you'll need to miss Quidditch practice for a while."
Sophia looked back at Ember and into Ember's eyes, her own filled with compassion and concern.
((OOC: Had to do some research on the spell, as there's not one listed on the spell list that would work. The only cannon reference to an attempt to heal broken bones is Gilderoy Lockheart's disastrous attempt on Harry in Chamber of Secrets. I am going on the assumption that the spell actually CAN mend broken bones if cast by someone competent, rather than a shit head, and that when cast incorrectly, it makes the bones in question disappear rather than mend them. If any mod has a problem with this, please let me know.))
