Andrew 'Anders' Briar

Appearance: Hazel eyes with flecks of green that glisten with warmth. Curly, tawny, brown hair. 5'9, lanky with a thin and weedy build. Anders looks like a nerd, he just has that typical lack of muscle tone and submissive air about him. He's often seen wearing thick, knitted scarfs in the winter knitted by his Grandmother and is never seen without his scuffed up trainers, they're his favorite pair and he has an odd attachment to them. He's the type of bloke to wear corduroy pants and cardigan sweaters. In fact he often does wear sweaters because he hates being chilly. He occasionally is seen wearing spectacles when reading. Anders has a faint trail of freckles bridging across his nose and horrible posture, often slouching and sluggish in appearance.

Favorite Subjects: Charms, Transfiguration, Mythology and Potions

Least Favorite Subjects: Defense Against the Dark Arts, Herbology, Care of Magical Creatures, Divination and Quidditch.

What He Hates: Loud chewing, obnoxious, loud-spoken people, bullies, and when old people dote upon him calling him a sweetheart and inquiring as to why he 'hasn't found himself a nice, pretty girlfriend yet'.

What He Loves: Photography, reading, studying architecture, listening to Weezer and other alternative rock bands, practicing and reading about charms, and eating. Anders loves to eat all sorts of food, enough so that it's become a hobby.

Personality: Anders is a very sensitive soul. He's gentle, kind, compassionate, and understanding. He's the type of person to help somebody when they are down and out. At the same time he's not very good at relating well to his peers, he prefers a good book to the company of people. He's socially awkward, borderline inept and is even worse when it comes to speaking with girls. He gets nervous, stutters, and his hands get terribly clammy, he flushes easily and always somehow, someway ends up saying the wrong thing to upset them or scare them away. He can be a bit blunt, he has a horrible habit of saying exactly what is on his mind and when asked his honest opinion of something he will give you his honest opinion, not possessing the social etiquette to have manners and politely lie. He's very logical, intelligent and witty. Anders has a good sense of humor and enjoys making others laugh, even if it's at his own expense for he's very clumsy and often trips over his own two feet. He's afraid of magical creatures and regular creatures, even owls skeeve him out a bit. Really it's best for Anders to stay away from all creatures all together for his awkwardness with interacting with humans extends over to them as well.

History: Beverly Beauregard and Arnold Briar were high school sweethearts who later married. They live a seemingly perfect, happy life, with a loving marriage and good relationship with their two sons. They are very ordinary, living in an ordinary flat, on an ordinary street, and drive an ordinary car, working middle class, ordinary jobs. So when this ordinary couple had a not so ordinary son with magical capabilities they were a bit shocked to say the least and are still getting adjusted to the magical world and the new part it plays in their lives.

Anders was an overall happy, ordinary muggle. He got bullied in school, though it was mild, mainly harmless pranks and internet bullying. Anders enjoyed reading and video games as a youth. He played Call of Duty as well as some not so masculine games, like The Sims, an embarrassing secret of his. At the age of ten he took a keen interest in architecture that he still possesses. Anders and his little brother Emerson have the typical relationship of two brothers, sometimes they fight, sometimes they get along. Both Emerson and Anders turned out to be wizards, so fortunately they did not experience the rivalry many other muggleborns experience when they are the only one of their siblings who gets chosen to go to a mysterious, magical boarding school.

Beverly is a dentist, pressing good oral hygiene and sanitation on her two sons. Arnold works an ordinary office job with an ordinary muggle company but does taxidermy work on the side as a hobby. Emerson shares his fathers love of taxidermy, eager to assist him with his newest creations while Anders would rather not stuff dead animals, he finds the hobby creepy. Anders was always very studious and labeled as a 'nerd' in school while his younger brother got all the athletic genes, playing on the cricket team although Anders did try track and field one year, being long-legged and skinny, though he lacked the stamina needed to win and ended up quitting.
