Mara was often a skilled duelist, especially considering her year, and usually had no trouble handling her own. Yesterday, however someone had managed to get the best of her, catching her completely off guard while the professor stepped inside his office to fetch more seed, a Gryffindor boy and a Hufflepuff, a pair of insufferable, well-known pranksters. Two pathetic class clowns somehow managed to shrink Mara down to the height of a whopping three foot two in order to make her 'resemble a vile little goblin more than she already did.' It had started with Mara making a snide remark about the one bloke's short, pudgy mother's 'uncanny resemblance to a hag she had seen in Knockturn Alley.' after he'd remarked if she'd ever heard of a comb, making fun of her frizzy, wild hair. This set off an unspoken prank war that Mara vowed to win, even if she had to play dirty. She would put the two prats in their rightful place, groveling at her feet, begging for mercy.
Mara barged into the Slytherin common room looking like an irate bull on a rampage, seeing red. Her hair was even more disheveled from being suspended upside down for well over ten minutes and her cheeks were still flushed a rosy pink in anger, embarrassment and the uncomfortable blood flow rushing to her ears. The entire class had saw her knickers and gave her hell for them being scarlet. 'Look she's a secret supporter of the lions!', 'They're Gryffindor knickers!', 'A lion at heart, trapped in a snake's body. Rather, a goblins!' The stupid remarks had somehow been hilarious to her witless peers for every onlooker had doubled over in a fit of violent laughter as if she'd just sharted out unicorn dust or something. She didn't see what was so damn amusing, so what if her knickers were red? What was the big deal? She had a whole array of bold colors, unfortunately she just so happened to pick those pair on that day, hastily reaching for the ruby ones. Curse her life. She vowed to burn them later that night once the others had gone to bed.
Mara stomped over to her boyfriend, Joseph huffing and puffing in anger as she flopped down ungracefully on the sofa beside him in a furious heap, wiping a lock of unruly, blonde hair from her pale, green eyes. "I'm going to kill them. Literally, the Aurors are going to have to come here and ship me off to Azkaban because clearly they seek a death sentence. They're dead, beyond dead, they'll be moaning, transparent ghosts by this time tomorrow evening. I vow to it." Mara seethed, venting to her companion before turning to properly face him and then she told him everything that had just transpired, down to every last mortifying detail, not because she needed a shoulder to cry on but because he would know what to do. He could help her get payback.
