Lexi surveyed the shop. A steady stream of people were popping in and out of Florean Fortescue's IceCream Parlour. She should be pleased. It was, after all, her shop. If it brought in a steady profit that meant she brought in a steady profit. There was a part of her that despised the shop that consumed all her time. It was a charming place, sure, but Lexi would much rather be spending her time on music. The shop was simply a compromise.
Lexi smiled sweetly as she grabbed a cone, filling it with purple colored icecream for a little boy. "That's my favorite flavor too." she took the coins from his mother's hand, bidding them goodbye as they left the shop.
She sighed, glancing up at the clock on the wall. 3:30 it read. 3:30 and she was yet to have any lunch. She gave a wave of her wand, flipping the sign that said 'open' to 'closed'. She took off the apron that was customary of the tiny parlour off, hanging it on a nearby hook. She pulled her honey blonde hair out of it's pony tail so it cascaded down her shoulders. Lexi swung the door to her shop shut, locking it as she left.
As she walked down the cobblestone street, she waved to the various vendors and shopkeepers. Everybody knew Lexi. The popular Florean Fortescue's granddaughter who took over his shop several years ago. She made her way to Flourish and Blotts where her friend Evie Gilbert worked. She figured if Evie hadn't had lunch yet, the two could head over to The Leaky Cauldron and grab some.
As she entered the bookstore, her eyes swept the shelves. She spotted a familiar red hair of her friend helping a customer. While she waited for Evie to finish with the man, she perused the new selections.
