Adam had changed his mind several times that evening, and was almost certain he was late because of it. Up until the moment he left he'd been unsure of his plans, and had been so distracted by the decision that he hadn't even been able to concentrate on his book. However, the moment he had chosen to ignore the invite his curiosity had fought back, forcing him up and out of Ravenclaw tower before his logic and reason kicked in. Due to this, he wasn't at all prepared for the cold, and a shiver ran down his spine as air sliced through his jumper.
He could see three boys standing in the courtyard when he arrived, in a triangle with Floki at the head. They'd seen him, which meant it was too late to turn back and take cover in his dormitory. He slowed as he neared the trio, trying to decipher who they were from their silhouettes. Floki was easily recognisable even though Adam didn't know him well, and once the wizard was close another face presented itself. Malfoy? Adam glanced at the other boy, a Slytherin he didn't know the name of and sighed. Was this a club to celebrate the arrogant? If so, why in Merlin's name was Adam there?
The atmosphere was thick, and Scorpius didn't seem as cocky as usual, which could only be a good thing. Adam didn't dislike either of his housemates, but among them he felt like a horse among centaurs. "Am I late?" He asked, reciting the letter in his mind to see if he'd missed a time. This could be the worst idea Adam had ever had, but now he was here he may as well hear what all the fuss was about.
