Describe their past history : Blaise Zabini was the son of a famously beautiful witch who had been widowed seven times over by 1996. Each husband's death occurred both under suspicious circumstances and left the already wealthy Ms. Zabini and her son richer. In 2012 Ms. Zabini was convicted of murder of her eighth husband, though since they still could not prove the other seven deaths she was charged with one count of murder and sentenced to a lifetime in Azkaban.
When Blaise graduated Hogwarts he fled from England as purebloods and those with connections to Death Eaters or the house of Slytherin faced heavy persecution. He spent some time in France and found love in a full-blooded veela woman named Harper. She became pregnant with their first child, Corvin in 2001, then later had Esme three years later. Harper did not use a wand to perform magic, having been a full veela this also meant she had a dangerous harpie-like form when angered. Being already a short-tempered and haughty women she soon found the stress of having two children too much for her and one day went into Harpie mode, lashing out with her bird-like talons at her son, which left a scar on his cheek. She was charged with abuse and was removed from her children, placing them in the custody of their father. They've had no contact with Harper since then, when Blaise was four and Esme has no recollection of her. This left the children in the care of their cold father and grandmother, facing emotional neglect as the adults rarely took an interest in them. There were no hugs, no comfort and lullabies to be sung in their childhood, crying was seen as weak and they were taught to repress their emotions.
When Esme was sorted to Gryffindor things got worse, where as they acted indifferent towards the children before, now Esme was despised as both their father and grandmother were outraged and humiliated, calling her a blood-traitor. The worst was that Corvin agreed with them, shunning her as well because their ideals had been so ingrained in him. Corvin hasn't spoken to his sister since graduating from Hogwarts and does not acknowledge his relation to her, hating her with the same intensity as his father.

What do they love? : Her favorite subjects are Potions and Defense Against the Dark Arts, though she thinks the dark arts could be useful and morally right if used against dark wizards. Esme loves sunsets, the end of another day of suffering. She loves nature, exploring the Forbidden Forest alone. She enjoys the chase of a love interest, of fancying someone who doesn't like her since it's rare that people are able to look past her beauty and dislike her for anything whether it be for her family or the unappealing side of her personality. She enjoys those that challenge her.
What do they hate? : Conceited people, shallow people, cowardice, traditionalists, ignorance and her dysfunctional family.
Have they ever loved anyone in a romantic way? : No, Esme tries her best not to become emotionally attached to people. Since her family has betrayed her she has become very reserved and is afraid deep down to open herself up to another, afraid of the pain of their loss should they turn their back on her also. She's closed herself off emotionally from the world, though she feels emotions very deeply.
What's their most traumatic memory? : When her grandmother was found guilty of murder. She knew the woman was vile but she never expected that. It's something she's very ashamed of, to be related to such an evil witch, to have been strictly raised by her and loved her despite how cruel she could be with her grandchildren at times. It hurt to know that someone who you considered a mother figure, though she wasn't a very nurturing one, was really nothing more than a monster.
What's their happiest memory? : Her and Corvin being close, before he turned his back on her over something as shallow as a stupid, Hogwarts house. Though these memories are fondest they are also the most painful for Esme.
Describe their personality : Reclusive, secretive, reserved, distrusting, emotional but represses her feelings, bottling them up until she explodes, sharp-minded, cunning, courageous, and possesses a great deal of nerve, not afraid to speak her mind especially when angered. She's very conflicting in nature. Equally good and bad, though she is trying to become a better person, less manipulative, sly, and cold-hearted.

How would you, the writer, describe them? : A lonely young woman struggling to cope with being outcasted by her cruel family, find her own love, happiness and acceptance somewhere in this grim world. Become a better person, be different from those who've betrayed her, who've caused her so much pain and emotional turmoil. She wants to be able to hold her head high and say without a doubt in her mind that she is better than them.
Any special magical abilities? : She's a skilled duelist and excellent at brewing potions mainly because the work is solitary, she prefers working alone.
Any special skills? : Manipulation and charm due to the exotic veela blood coursing through her veins. Though those with a strong-willed character are able to resist her allure.
