STUDENT APPLICATION
NAME : Mildred-Margaret Mae McIntyre
POSSIBLE NICKNAMES: Millie or Millie-Mae
AGE : Sixteen
BIRTHDAY : August 28, 2005
ORIENTATION : Closet Lesbian
RELATIONSHIP STATUS : Single
BLOOD STATUS : Pure-Blood
What color are their eyes, hair, and skin? :
Mildred-Margaret is a fairly pale girl who’s hair is long and black, flowing to her waist. She usually just lets it hang down, but will occasionally pull it up into braid or something to keep it under control, especially as it has a habit of getting pulled by the backs of classroom chairs. Her eyes are a bit different, in that they’re a weird metallic silver mixed with a bit of light blue. Yes, she was born that way. No, she hasn’t any clue where they came from either. It’s probably some kind of recessive gene.
How do they dress? :
Mildred-Margaret will wear whatever color she feels like that day, but she tends to stray towards purples and blues and white, but, specifically, indigo and periwinkle are her favorites. She likes girly things, with bits of lace and ribbons and buttons, lots and lots of wonderfully colorful buttons. She’ll wear her jeans, but she can most likely be found in a skirt or dress, but both have to fly up when she spins.
Do they like the way they look? :
Not in the least.
Height? :
5’3
Do they resemble any family member? :
No.
What is their best physical feature? :
Her eyes. Maybe. She guesses.
What is their most flawed physical feature? :
Everything else.
Where are they from? :
Mildred-Margaret was born in America and quickly adopted. She lives in England in the McIntyre Manor in the country, far away from any Muggle cities.
Describe their past history :
Mildred-Margaret has been raised by very stern, old-fashion, close-minded parents with absolutely no sense of anything but ‘upholding family honor and pride at all times’. Growing up nothing she did was right. ‘Ladies don’t slouch. Ladies don’t talk back. Fix your hair, Mildred-Margaret. Fix your dress, Mildred-Margaret. Are you really going like that?’ There comes a heavy pressure of being an only child whose parents push and push to form you into a mold they expect you to fill even if it’s too small. The idea of perfection is something Mildred-Margaret is not unfamiliar with, and she strives so hard to fill it and be the perfect daughter her parents so desired. Mildred-Margaret was adopted when she was about six-months-old, her pure-blooded, American parents being too young to care for her properly. Or at least that’s what her adoptive parents have always told her. She’s not sure if it’s true or not. Sometimes she feels at if it’s like they bought her and have since been unsatisfied with the outcome. However, there was no way they were going to send her back or anything of the sort, not after presenting their supposedly perfect little daughter to all of their high-class friends.
Mildred-Margaret has tried very hard throughout her life to form herself to her parents’ desires, but it’s difficult sometimes when you don’t have the exact same ideals or abilities as them. Mildred-Margaret used to constantly clash with them about things, like Muggleborns. Mildred-Margaret doesn’t mind them, but god forbid her parents have to even speak to one. Of course, they keep their opinions safely harbored within the McIntyre Manor, not wanting to make themselves look disgraceful in these new times of encouraging pure and Muggleborn marriages. However, Mildred-Margaret learned long ago that fighting against her parents just results in more heartache. Whenever she acted out, they were especially quick to point out every single one of her flaws, thus resulting in Mildred-Margaret’s mindset and opinion of her own self. God forbid if her parents ever found out she likes girls.
During the war, her parents were neither opposed to Voldemort, nor did they join up with the Death Eaters. They kind of just stayed out of it and silently watched from the sidelines.
Who are their parents :
Elizabeth McIntyre
Rolland McIntyre
Do they have any siblings? :
No, not that she knows of anyway. She could have a million biological siblings and not know it.
Is their any history of mental illness in their family? :
Most likely not, they are pureblooded after all. Well, okay. There’s a rumor that her birth mother is bipolar.
What do they love? :
Hugs. Mildred-Margaret is a snuggler. She loves to hold hands or toss an arm over someone’s shoulders. She thrives on physical touch despite not getting much of it from her parents. She also loves to paint and read, especially outside. And animals. And people. She just adores people, every shape, size, color, sexuality, and blood line.
What do they hate? :
The idea of perfection and not being able to obtain it despite trying to hard. Also, she’s not fond of the dark, or needles, or heights. Old fashion ideals where someone is better than another just because they’re from a better off family or blood line. Fake people who like her just because she’s a McIntyre.
Have they ever loved anyone in a romantic way? :
Nope.
What's their most traumatic memory? :
When Mildred-Margaret was about six, she spent her family’s entire holiday dinner with her absolute favorite doll in a small chair on the table, playing at her being real as she usually did. One of her mother’s friends must have made a remark about it, because later that night, when her mother came to say goodnight, she took the doll. She said Mildred-Margaret was too big to be playing with toys for little children and it was time for her to grow up. The next day, all of her toys were taken and replaced with things one would expect a teenager to want. Books and paints and a great big harp bigger than Mildred-Margaret herself. A governess was hired to keep an eye on her and teach her to read and write and do math while she also got an art and music teacher several times a week. She was literally expected to become a big person over night. To this day, Mildred-Margaret still yearns for that doll who she’d slept with every night.
What's their happiest memory? :
When Mildred-Margaret was about three she got this gorgeous doll for her birthday. It was a very well made, beautifully dressed play doll with lots of clothes and a soft body for hugging at night. She didn’t give a single care about any of her other presents. All she wanted to do was play with that doll. It was her absolute favorite toy and first friend. She took it everywhere with her.
Describe their personality :
Mildred-Margaret is a bit of an odd duck. She’s a very nice girl who loves to love people and at the same time, doesn’t think very highly of her own self. She has a mindset that she will never, ever, be good enough for anyone. After all, if her first parents didn’t want her, and her second set isn’t happy with her even after they specifically picked her out, there must be something wrong with her. Aside from thinking she’s a terrible person, Mildred-Margaret is a very gentle soul. She tends to keep to herself, burying her nose in books or her paints to escape the constant refrain of ‘I suck’ out of her head. She’s also the kind of girl who can be relied upon in situations where emotions are involved. She’ll always offer a shoulder to cry on or an ear to just listen when the world feels too big and out of control. She has a particular soft spot for children and animals. She’s always very soft spoken, but also quite smart and tries to exceed in all of her classes. Anything less than an E is unacceptable in her parents’ eyes. Sometimes she gets the urge to be absolutely goofy and dance about and just laugh, to roll in the mud or wear something outrageous but she refrains. It wouldn’t be ladylike and she must always, first and foremost, be a lady. No matter how tiring it is.
Describe their personality flaws :
Mildred-Margaret is a bit of a brooder. She tends to fall into herself sometimes if she’s not careful and is really hard on herself. She struggles with being the person her parents want her to be and the slightly more crazy person she has inside her that is bursting to come out. She’s not good at saying no to things either, always wanting to make others happy even if it hurts her in the process. She isn’t very strong and is actually quite emotionally weak. Being teased cuts through her pretty badly and she’ll dwell on it for days.
What would a stranger's first impression of them be? :
A pretty, bit quiet, but kind sort of upstanding young lady.
How would you, the writer, describe them? :
Mildred-Margaret struggles with who she is. She doesn’t know whether to stray from the very thin line her parents have created for her, even though she really wants to very badly. She would be very good at jumping and shouting and just letting loose if she allowed herself to do so. She would absolutely love to wear something not specially tailored for her and that would be highly frowned upon by her parents. She’d also kind of like to dye her hair a bit. Maybe indigo. Oh and maybe a belly button piercing. She thinks they’re pretty. She’s very kind and thrives on being treated with such. And cuddles. She would also really like a girlfriend, but has to hide that part of herself for fear of completely ’shaming’ the entire extended McIntyre family.
Any special magical abilities? :
Not especially. She’s pretty average at most things, though her best subject is probably Transfiguration.
Any special skills? :
Painting. Mildred-Margaret is very good at painting, especially landscapes. She can do water color and acrylic the best.
