Describe their past history : Anthony was born to Holland Scarbore, the heir to a powerful Pureblood family that was known for harboring many secrets. Though it was not clear if they had a preference for dark magic or white magic, rumors flew of strange happenings stemming from the family. Legend says it is due to the first Scarbore taking a Faye as a wife rather than a witch. It would seem true as for generations the Scarbores were notorious for not having gardens, but instead having woods surrounding their houses. They were always superior athletes and shared strange bonds with nature, both plant life and creatures.
For hundreds of years, the Scarbore line remained pure even though it broke into sectors; A Scottish sector, a British sector, a French sector, an Italian sector, and a Middle-Eastern sector. Holland was the son of a rather powerful wizard who for some reason seemed to lack the natural calmness and balance most of the other Scarbroes pertained. He was a talented wizard besides this though of that there was no doubt. Many found it strange when Holland refused to align his family with Voldemort but on a bitter winter night in early January, they would find out why.
Like most purebloods Holland was put into an arranged marriage. This was no concern to him he already had many consorts to take care of him and he had many brothers so there was no need for him to have more than a son and daughter. One to carry the name, and one to take another's. What Holland didn't count on was falling madly in love. Holland married a distant cousin of his, the great-great granddaughter of a great-great aunt from the Scottish Sector. She was a beautiful thing with piercing blue eyes that could pin a man where he stands and hair like fine gold. Her name was Madhara. She was wild and young and quite the challenge for the stiff lipped proper British gentleman Holland was. She was like a breath of fresh air though, new and different and soon she had him wrapped around her fingers.
What was supposed to be a business partnership, a commitment to strengthen family ties turned into everything a marriage should be, everything Holland thought was only fantasy. The two love birds, Holland and Madhara had eight sons, as was the way with Scarbores, sons being far more common than daughters. In the summer their youngest child was to turn six, Madhara fell ill. At first it seemed nothing more than a cold, but the normal remedies wouldn't work it away, cold turned to flu, flu to pneumonia and by the end of Fall she was gone. There was no explanation as to why she died other than illness but no expense had been spared in healer or remedy. Holland had tried everything but the love of his life was gone. Unable to cope, Holland locked himself away for many months refusing to see even his sons, all littered with little pieces of his late wife. It was to much for him.
Holland finally emerged midwinter but something had changed about him. He did no longer call his sons to his lap nor smile nor show any signs of the happy life he had been blessed with before, he dressed only in black and was said to get up to questionable magic in his study. Eventually it was to much and Holland broke, he needed to get Madhara back.
It was by random he found her once more. Of course it wasn't actually the dead witch, it was a muggle woman, a young wife herself. Her name was Judith Greene, wife of Timothy Greene and new mother of Eliza Greene. Holland knew what he had to do and it was only a matter of hours before Judith's word was turned upside down by the lunatic wizard that was Holland Scarbore. He stalked the woman back to her home and in the dead of night kidnapped her, killing her husband and infant daughter so she would have nothing to come back to. Holland locked her away in Scarbore manor where she lived the next eight years of her life in misery. She bore him one son, Anthony, the rest she didn't allow herself to carry to term. One day she managed to escape her room, Holland having forgotten to lock her door in one of his drunken stupor's and threw herself from the nearest window.
Anthony was only seven when his mother died but he always remembered her screams and tantrums and the pleads she'd make with Anthony himself to release her despite the boy not having the power to reverse his father's magical locks and wards. Anthony loved his mother despite it becoming obvious the older he grew that Judith never saw him as her son. Having grown up the very product of maddness, Anthony was better able to cope with things than his father. He threw himself into the earth, exploring nature all it's plants and creatures and structures, letting the Earth's healing magic soothe the deep hurt his parents had left.
Hogwarts helped a lot when Anthony became old enough too attend school, friends and spectators that gathered to watch his daring stunts and place bets on how far he could get up the side of Hogwarts made him forget at least momentarily about the scorn he faced from his brothers for being a half blood and the absent affection of both mother and father. Anthony had only been kept sane during his time at home by the house elves who had virtually raised him. They taught him compassion and empathy and it was something that would stick with the boy till the end of his days.
In his first year, Anthony had made an enemy out of Jasic Dumere who being an extremely competitive individual felt the need to compete with him over everything. By third year though, goals of daring feats were forgotten as girls came into their life. After competing for and both being turned down by the same girl, Jasic and Anthony finally bonded over their mutual hate for the witch as both egos were sorely wounded. From then on the Gryffindor and Slytherin were best mates.
As best mates do, Anthony visited the home of his friend. It was their he met the sixth Dumere child, a squid named Matilda, Jasic's younger sister. He didn't know obviously upon meeting the rather vicious twelve year old he was meeting his future wife. Things came to that though and each summer Jasic and Anthony were spending more and more time together with Matilda.
The summer after graduation though things went bad and Matilda showed how low she had really sunk by sneaking off to a party against Anthony's and Jasic's pleas where she almost died from ingesting far to many pills. That was the breaking point for Anthony and he finally exploded, yelling at Jasic for not caring for his sister properly and at Matilda for being so reckless.
It was there that night in the hospital holding her hand as she got her stomach pumped that Matilda and Anthony's relationship started. A relationship that would result in a marriage and six wonderful children.
