-FAMILY
INFORMATION-
Where are they from? : Adam Finnigan is from the heart of London and has been
there all his life.
Describe their past history : The Finnigan family lived in the country side
with many horses and were blessed with three children Adam and two years later,
Lucy. Then Ben a few years with a second husband. Clarisse gave her children
the middle name, Angel as she said they were a gift from God. Lucy was born
with ADHD, dyslexia and has developed extreme OCD. She struggles to maintain
focused and needs to ‘ritualise’ round the house like touching walls or
stepping in certain places. Lucy gets anxiety when certain things don’t happen
or when she gets frustrated when trying to read. Their parents couldn’t handle
this and after many years of fighting eventually split. Adam became the man of
the house at ten. Their mother Clarisse struggled to support the family on her
own so Adam took a job at a newsagency after school. He always helped Lucy with
her homework and she relied on him in turn. Lucy was always part of Adam’s life
and when receiving the letter to Hogwarts he refused to go.
Their mother had always been a witch though
never told her husband. She waved off the strange things her son and never used
magic when he was around. Lucy didn’t inherit the ability and Adam wanted to
stay with her. They had a bond that was about to be ripped apart by a school
full of magic. Any normal kid would have taken this chance, but not Adam. He
knew his sister needed his help, with their mother hardly coping with the
divorce what was he to do? They made an arrangement that Adam could come home
by the floo network every weekend to check on his family. He made sure they
were both eating hearty dinners and earning a decent income. He missed his
sister a lot through the five days of schooling and often wished he could show
her the wonderful things they were doing in classes.
Adam dreamed about her
laugh when she was happy and had nightmares when she was sad or having an
anxiety attack. He was completely devoted to her well-being; they had never
been apart in their lives. Clarisse remarried to Robert Chamberlan a worker at
gringotts a few years after the divorce. He was a nice man though only really
had time for his son (Adam’s half-brother).
When school
was over, Adam had gone straight home and looked after his sister. But Lucy had
grown even more independent and didn’t like pulling her brother back in the
world. She had urged him to get a job somewhere and said they would always keep
in touch. Adam remembers tears springing to his eyes but always did what his
sister wanted of him. He always had her best interests in mind.
So he left
and got a part time job at gringotts, the wizarding bank. Adam also bought a
muggle phone and kept it on him at all times. Just in case his sister was
having an anxiety attack or needed help. Because of caring for his sister all
his life, Adam is very tuned in to emotions. He was the only one who could
really calm her down or know exactly what she needed.
To strangers it can be
surprising the way he reads you so well. Lucy used to nickname him ‘Sherlock’.
When Lucy
found a muggle husband Adam didn’t know what to do. He wasn’t in charge of her
protection anymore; he was deprived of a purpose. Ages ago when he first came
home from school Lucy had dared him to get a tattoo as they were all the rage.
He had laughed and said yes so off they went down the street. Adam didn’t get a
small one like his sister advised but got massive angel wings inked in white on
his back. The effect was amazing and it looked like wings were actually trying
to fly out of his skin. God it had hurt, but it was a good pain. Lucy had come
up of his angel nickname then. Now Adam was a wingless guardian – fallen from
heaven.
He’s coping
surprisingly well now, but he calls every night to see if his sister is okay.
Every phone call she urges him to find a nice girl and settle down. It’s a
constant loop in their lives.
Who are their parents? : Clarisse and Carlos Finnigan plus his stepfather
Robert Chamberlan.
Do they have siblings? : Yes, his younger sister Lucy Angel Finnigan and
half-brother Benjamin Chamberlan (Still in school)
Do they have any children? : No.
Is their any history of mental illness in their family : Yes, his sister
suffers with ADHD, dyslexia and OCD behaviours.
-PERSONAL
INFORMATION-
What do they hate? : Seeing his sister in pain with her mind. She gets
frustrated a lot and there is only so much Adam can do. He also hates people
who discriminate disabilities and protects his sister at all costs. As his mother said he was her ‘Guardian
Angel’.
What do they love? : Gardening, especially with his sister. Just seeing her
happy and carefree put his mind at rest. Adam also enjoys working with horses
when he has a chance and is very fit and muscular because of it. Adam and his
sister also have a love for art and music. They both play violin to excellent
standards and Lucy’s sketches are almost life like. Adam does enjoy a spot of
painting though his real hobby is photography. Adam also loves kids and has
always wanted kids ever since he was a kid.
What can they not live without? : Lucy. If anything were to happen to her, Adam
doesn’t know what he would do.
Have they ever been in love? : Some girls hate the fact that he loves his
sister more than them, they don’t understand how she can be more important.
Adam has never had a proper relationship as he focuses too much on Lucy.
What is their most traumatic memory? : Lucy had an anxiety attack over
something she still won’t say. Her eyes had glazed over and she had sweated
through her jumper. Adam remembers her breathing in gasps as though she
couldn’t get enough air. He was lost and couldn’t get her to come out of her
mind. This was even worse than the day his parents split.
What is their happiest memory? : There were so many when the family was happy.
Lucy riding beside him in the fields or his mother baking in the kitchen. For
Adam it was always the little moments and he tried to capture these with his
camera whenever he could in case they slipped through his memory.
Describe their personality : Adam can charm most people he meets and will
always be humble and polite. If you get close to him, his protective instincts
will kick in and you will have a friend for life. It’s a shame that most people
don’t want to compete with the love he has for his sister.
What would be a stranger's first impression of them? : If a person was without
a seat on a bus, Adam would be the first one to offer his. He’s just a nice guy
who is very loveable and charming.
How would you, the writer, describe them? : Someone in need of a distraction –
another person to care for. He worries about his sister too much – more than
his own well-being. Adam needs a friend.
Any special magical abilities? : No.
Any special skills? : Excellent at horse-riding, painting and photography.
-EMPLOYMENT/EDUCATION
INFORMATION-
Current Occupation : Works at Gringotts
Where did they go to school? : Hogwart’s School of Witchcraft and Wizardry
Was school a good time for them? Describe their school life : School started
off rocky as he didn’t want to leave his sister. He learnt all he could but couldn’t
wait to get out. He wanted to make sure his sister was okay.
Did they have a lot of friends? : Not really, he has a charming personality but
Lucy was always on his mind. It caused a few fights and disruptions in his
year. If anyone ever discriminated disabilities or his sister Adam wouldn’t be
too far off with a good punch to the jaw. He was a good kid and had decent
grades but his detention record isn’t the cleanest.
Have they worked previously? If so, where? : No.
