STUDENT APPLICATION
NAME : Aito Hiromitsu Bellamy
AGE : 15
BIRTHDAY : August 1, 2006
ORIENTATION : Straight
RELATIONSHIP STATUS : Single
BLOOD STATUS : Muggleborn
What color are their eyes, hair, and skin? :
Aito isn’t exactly pale, but he wouldn’t count as being tanned either, he’s more somewhere in-between to be honest. His dark brown hair is cut short enough to stay out of his face, but then it does this weird thing where it stands up all spiky without him even trying to get it that way. Lesser of two evils. His eyes are an odd mix between brown and green, giving them a kind of olive-like hue, especially when out in the sun.
How do they dress? :
Aito usually wears whatever’s comfortable. Jeans, t-shirts, sweatshirts, and regular old street shoes make up the majority of his wardrobe. Most things were also picked out by his mother and are therefore typically nature-toned: blues, greens, and browns. He could easily do it himself, but she enjoys it, so he humors her.
Do they like the way they look? :
Meh. He’s not the most handsome guy on the planet, nor is he the ugliest. Aito doesn’t put much stock into outward appearances, though he can appreciate when someone is attractive. He prefers to focus on the inner beauty of a person.
Height? :
6’2
Do they resemble any family member? :
Aito looks an incredible amount like his mother. From his hair to his eyes, and even his nose, his physical appearance had followed her genes in everything except height considering she is quite short.
What is their best physical feature? :
Probably his eyeballs. They’re fairly unique in color but not so much that they make him stand out.
What is their most flawed physical feature? :
His hair. It just won’t behave no matter what he does with it. Keep it long, it’s a crazy mess. Cut it shorter, it stands up. He’s pretty much done all he can with it aside from getting a buzz-cut.
Where are they from? :
London, England.
Describe their past history :
Aito was born to his very single mother, Delilah Bellamy a short seven and a half months after she’d had a run in with an old school mate whose name Aito has never been told despite having asked a few times before learning it was better to just let it go. Having come into the world undercooked and fatherless, Aito caused a lot of strife for his mother in the first few years of his life. Looking at him now though, you’d never know he’d been a sickly little thing, for which Delilah is incredibly grateful. He is the brightest spot in her life. No, seriously. She literally named him ‘darling child, large light’ and in Japanese no less, which, knowing her, isn’t that far-fetched.
Growing up, Aito didn’t have much aside from the few necessary things his mother struggled to provide for him. By the time he was four and shooting up quickly, Aito had learned how to lie through his teeth, things about how his shoes weren’t too tight and no, Mama, he didn’t need any more, he was full. Shortly before he hit six though, his clothes started growing with him, a strange phenomenon that had his mother taking him to the doctor to make sure he wasn’t shrinking. He made it through primary school with the same exact clothes he’d started with. Now, of course, they both know it was just underage magic.
Despite not having much in their little apartment, Aito and his mother did have her old childhood friend who Aito calls Aunt Tanya. Like his mother, Aunt Tanya is obsessed with pretty much everything Japanese. Aito was raised drinking copious amounts of green tea and eating the odd foreign foods his aunt would bring around which seems completely normal now, though, when compared to most of the kids he grew up around, they weren’t. He has probably read more manga and seen more anime than anyone else in his entire neighborhood. He was also the only child sent off to school carrying a carefully packed bento containing rice balls. To be honest, he loves it just about as much as his mother and much prefers eating at home to the meals they serve at school.
When Aito was about eight, he went through a rebellious phase. The other boys at school were picking on him for not having a father and still calling his mother ‘Mama’. He became quite distant and cold towards his mother, refusing to even hug her good-bye when she dropped him off at the school gate. He fought against her, saying he wasn’t a baby who needed to be taken to school when all of his friends walked together. He would say all sorts of terrible things to her, even that he hated her for various things. Not making sure he had a father like most of the other kids. For not having a good enough job. For treating him like a little kid. So, Delilah had to let go a little bit. She allowed him to walk to school on his own so long as he stayed in a group with the rest of the kids. However, that only quelled the storm for a little while before it built back up against. At that point, Aunt Tanya stepped in and taught Aito about the word ‘sacrifice.’ As in ‘Do you have any idea how much your mother has given up in order to give you the best life she can?’ Those weren’t the sort of words one normally spoke to a young child, but Aito was different, and after thinking about it, long and hard, because it took a lot to anger Aunt Tanya, he stopped being so rude to his mother.
Aito got his Hogwarts letter the very day he turned eleven, a bit later into the summer than most kids due to his August birthday. It came in the hands of Professor Longbottom who managed to convince both Aito and Delilah that first, no this was not a hoax, and second, yes, her son would be perfectly safe at the school. Having had his sights set on entering the public high school that coming school year, Aito was both a bit nervous and excited about actually being able to go away for the rest of his schooling. And in magic no less! He didn’t really have many close friends, so he wouldn’t be missing anyone too much if he went. His mother was not nearly as thrilled by the idea of her son being so far from reach and the only contact possibly by sending letters with owls, however, it was a better opportunity for him. After much begging on Aito’s part, Delilah finally caved. It had taken a lot of extra work shifts and help from Aunt Tanya and the school to get all of his supplies even secondhand, but they managed it. Now several years later, Aito, nor his mother, regret the decision.
Provided he writes her every couple days, of course.
Who are their parents :
Delilah Bellamy
Unnamed Muggle Male
Do they have any siblings? :
Nope.
Is their any history of mental illness in their family? :
Not that Aito knows of.
What do they love? :
Aito is impossibly fond of Japanese food, especially sweets and mainly those that are green tea flavored, which also happens to be his favorite drink. He can usually be found carting around at least three different genres of manga in his school bag at all times, usually gifts sent sporadically by his Aunt Tanya. He enjoys Quidditch, though he isn’t quite sure about all of the rules as he doesn’t play or follow the professional league like some of his school mates. He also likes being outdoors, taking naps, and reading. However, his most loved thing, would be his mother, who is his best friend. Just don’t call him a ‘Mama’s boy’ in a cynical tone. He knows he is, but you don’t need to say it like it’s a bad thing.
What do they hate? :
Aito really does not like being away from home all that much. As much as he loves Hogwarts, he misses his mother and her cooking and his Aunt Tanya a great deal when he’s away. They were his whole world for so long, it’s difficult knowing anything different even after so much time. He also really dislikes people who disrespect their parents, anyone who’s an asshole basically, and he is really, really, not into heights.
Have they ever loved anyone in a romantic way? :
Unfortunately, anime and manga chicks do not count.
What's their most traumatic memory? :
When Aito first started primary school, he had severe separation anxiety which caused awful night terrors. He would scream and cry so much, the neighbors thought he was being mistreated and spoke to his mother, saying things like they were going to call the proper authorities and have him taken away from her if it didn’t stop. The very idea of being kept away from his mother scared him so badly he almost had a panic attack. Delilah had to keep him in her bed at night after that for the next month until the night terrors stopped.
What's their happiest memory? :
There was this one time, when he was still quite small, that Aito’s mother took him to a new park where there were all these fabulous things to play on. The biggest structure was all made up of tubes and he absolutely loved climbing all through them. He can very clearly remember enjoying it, but the best part was when he went down the twirling slide and his Mama was waiting for him at the end. Her arms were open wide to catch him and she had the brightest smile on her face, like she thought he was the very best thing ever. Sometimes, if he thinks about it really hard, he can still hear the ‘I love you’ ringing behind her voice when she exclaimed his name.
Also, the first time he had green tea ice cream wrapped in mochi. That was pretty fantastic too.
Describe their personality :
Aito is first and foremost, compassionate. He is a giver of everything from hugs to sweets to a shoulder to cry on even if he doesn’t know you. He’s the kind of boy who is strong willed on the outside, but gentle and easily breakable on the inside should you cut the right thread. His world revolves mostly around wanting to do well enough in life that he can really help his mother out instead of just getting part time jobs over the summer breaks. He works hard, doing the best he can on his school work and trying not to flake off as tempting as it may be at times. He is very much a Muggleborn, using his own two hands to get things done before pulling out his wand when he can. Most of Aito’s affection also stems from his hands, a trait directly learned from his mother. He prefers touch over words, knowing a good pat on the back can be just as good as any ‘Well done!’ and even better when combined. This tends to make him quite cuddly, despite being so tall.
Due to his good-natured attitude, Aito tends to be non-judgmental, preferring to accept people as they come. His emotions don’t get displayed easily unless they’re on the bright side. He smiles and loves easily, ready to talk about anyone’s problems but his own. He likes to have a good laugh, but not at the expense of others and he’s not usually the one making the jokes.
Describe their personality flaws :
Aito struggles to express his emotions in a healthy manner. He tends to bottle up any bad feelings he had in spite of always being taught to share them. As he is so naturally kind, it makes it easy for people to use him, even if he’s paying attention and notices. This stems from an inner self-doubt that he’ll never actually be good enough for most things and should just take things as they come. He’s not very good at accepting compliments, not feeling deserving of them. He also usually ends up thinking of others first and himself last, which leads to stress when trying to get things done that he needs to do but not wanting to upset anyone in the process by denying them what they desire. He has extreme guilt issues when anyone is mad at him. He can also be quite clingy or overly-loyal which makes him easily dislikable as most people don’t like that. He has a bit of a social phobia in which he struggles to make friends, but when he does, he sticks by them like superglue until they, usually, discard him, most likely due to the aforementioned clinginess.
What would a stranger's first impression of them be? :
He’s a handsome young man, a bit quiet, but seems nice enough.
How would you, the writer, describe them? :
Aito is one of those people who is just naturally inherently good. He automatically gets guilt when he does anything wrong or feels like he has, especially when it’s related to another person. He has this exceptional platonic relationship with his mother that most teenage boys do not, because he knows how hard she has it and respects everything she does and is actually grateful. The fact that he struggles to keep friends due to his sometimes overbearing need to be around them a lot more than they want to be around him, has led to her being his best friend. She’s one of the only constants in his life. It has made him a bit softer, but kindness should never be underestimated as weakness.
Any special magical abilities? :
He’s alright at Transfiguration.
Any special skills? :
Hugging. Seriously, if there was an award for the best hugger ever…
