He can be found usually in jeans with combat boots, dark shirts usually depicting one heavy metal band or another with a flannel or frayed sweatshirt thrown over.
Do they like the way they look? : Tommy couldn't give rat's arse to be perfectly honest.
Height? : about 5'11" but still growing
Do they resemble any family member? : All his looks come from his mam.
What is their best physical feature? : Tommy would have to admit he has some fantastic legs.
What is their most flawed physical feature? : He has a nasty scar from when he was younger and fell out of a tree and onto some rocks.
-FAMILY INFORMATION-
Where are they from? : Dunoon, Highlands, Scotland
Describe their past history : Tommy grew up in a small farming village in the Scottish Highlands. His family has lived there for generations causing everyone to know him, though this was not always a good thing. He had a best mate named Levi who passed away when they were about eight, but before that the two would get up to trouble constantly, following in the path of Joey and Seamus, Tommy's elder brothers. Life there was quiet, and though he wouldn't seem the type Tommy loves it there. It is peaceful, despite the haunting memories of the little boy that died.
Nothing remarkable happened much in Tommy's life despite Levi's death. He was a lucky boy who despite his family not having a lot of money, lived a happy life. He liked to play with the sheep and chase chickens in his youth. Unfortunately when Tommy was younger, his gran lived with his family in their old stone house. She passed winter of his fourth year, but the two weren't exceptionally close. They bickered constantly and she'd throw things at him whenever she caught him or his brother's playing in the house before ranting about "chillin' these days 'ave noo respect". He did feel a bit sorry when she passed, the woman having put all the love she spared her grandsons into her sole granddaughter, Charlene, named after the woman herself.
Tommy's childhood had always been spotted with death, it was natural, at least that was what his parent's as farmer's taught him. Some died so others could prosper, this was true for all things; plants, animals, and people. Despite this, music was a central part of Tommy's life. Growing up everyone in his family played an instrument; his mother the flute, his father the guitar, Seamus the bagpipes, Joey the fiddle, and Charlene eventually the harp. It was a way to cope for many of the family when disaster struck. Tommy especially.
When Hogwarts came, Tommy wasn't really happy to leave home. He wanted to stay with his Mam and Da, especially his sister, but Seams and Joey had already gone and would tease him mercilessly if he started crying about having to leave their parents. So Tommy left home, taking his guitar and barn owl, Karin, with him.
Who are their parents : Mary (McMahon) and James Colquhoun
Do they have any siblings? : Two older brothers, Joeseph and Seamus, and a litter sister named Charlene
Is their any history of mental illness in their family? : Tommy considers both parents mental but their isn't much to attest to this theory.
-PERSONAL INFORMATION-
What do they love? : Above all, his sister Charlene, but music is a close second. Tommy learned Guitar from his father but as he got older and discovered his own way in music taste, Tommy began to prefer death-metal and took up more instruments including the electric guitar, bass, drums, and piano. Tommy likes to sing as well but until he can perfect his screams, he will have to make do with performing only hard rock.
What do they hate? : Tommy doesn't genuinely hate anything despite how hard he likes to come off. He can't stand his two older brothers though, kids that pick on his sister, pop music, anything orange-cream flavored, and being called 'Tommyboy' which James and Seamus insist on doing.
Have they ever loved anyone in a romantic way? : No, but he's come pretty close with this one Kronos record he got from his Da.
What's their most traumatic memory? : When he was younger, before Hogwarts, his family lived next to another wizarding family as the village he lived in was a great mix of varying levels of wizarding blood. Anyway, he had lived next to a family who had a boy his own age named Levi. Levi was a lively boy, with only a little sister at home. He was a happy, upbeat child, far less dramatic and unforgiving than Tommy who had a bad case of 'middle child syndrome'. Despite this, Levi and Tommy were the best of friends and every day they liked to explore the thick forests of the Highlands that surrounded their village together. One day though they came to a river. It wasn't a strange river, or even a new one. They had been here many of times. In fact it had been Joey and Seamus who had led them there. The two eldest had even strung up a swing to one of the tree's beside the river, thinking it would be great fun to see the water beneath as they swung. But little boys, in their naive ways, tend to get up to questionable things.
One afternoon while at the river, Tommy thought they should try to jump off the swing and onto the other side of the river. Levi in his brave, adventurous little boy way agreed immediately, even offering to go first, but when Levi pushed from the swing in effort to cross, he came short and landed hard on some rocks along the water's edge. The smile fell immediately from Tommy's lips but he couldn't move, he was waiting. Tommy didn't process what had happened, he couldn't. There was no doubt in his mind that Levi would get up. He always did. Even if he was crying when he did so with a scrape on his head he would get up. There was an instinct though, of dread, of disaster that went off like fireworks inside him when he watched Levi's body slump into the water, the red that had billowed around him staining the grey of his small little boy t-shirt.
A scream broke out from Tommy's chest and he burst forward into the water, grabbing Levi.Shaking the boy and even hitting him, Tommy could not get Levi to open his eyes or respond. He needed help, Tommy realized and dragged his friend to the shore. Being as young as he was though, Tommy could only get Levi about half way home. Tommy refused to leave his best mate though and held the boy against him under a tree as he breathed his last breaths.
Later that night when the moon was already high and fat in the sky, Tommy and Levi were found by Seamus and both of their Dads. The memory of Levi never left Tommy and though he's never said much about it he feels guilty about his mate's death believing if he hadn't suggest they try to jump to the other side, or at least offer to go first, Levi's life could have been spared.
What's their happiest memory? : Tommy's happiest memory is probably when he was young, about five or four and his Mam put his tiny hand to her stomach. He was able to feel Charlene kick and realized for the first time, truly, he would be a big brother. There would be someone who he had to look after and would look up to him.
Describe their personality : Tommy comes off a bit hard and cold but this is only to cover up his poor social skills. On the inside Tommy is a huge softie, though he would hope no one could guess this. Tommy while cautious of people, especially the opposite sex, is an extremely loyal mate. He'll do anything he can for a mate, legal or not, whether or not his friend is right or wrong in doing so. Despite how serious he can come off to be, Tommy enjoys laughing and being a teenager. Admittedly he is a bit spit fire, and quick to fight, not really thinking of consequences but it's a youthful kind of recklessness that (hopefully) he'll grow out of.
Describe their personality flaws : Tommy likes to pretend he's not affected by anything and is so worried about being 'himself' he tends to block out the people that really care about him. He's also has a rather short temper and is stupidly wreckless.
What would a stranger's first impression of them be? : Typical angsty teen looking to be 'different' and 'unique' by the way they dress.
How would you, the writer, describe them? : Tommy may seem tough and hard with his off putting initial personality and tendency for physical altercations, but really he cares a lot. He has a deep sense of justice and can't stand to see wrong in the world, though contradictingly he tends to hold his mates on a pedestal. He is a naturally guilty person and takes blame for most things, regardless if they are truly his fault or not. He can be a hard guy to be friends with, and once you do get on his good side there is a lot of emotional layers to him but he has a good heart and will be a loyal mate for life.
Any special magical abilities? : None especially though he is pretty good with Astronomy
Any special skills? : Tommy can play many instruments and is very musically inclined.
