Alkawari made a face at the mention of work. She hated paper work to begin with, but Arithmancy work especially. She was not good reading, never mind math. All theses numbers and theories and theorems seemed galaxies beyond what she herself was able to even comprehend. This project imparticular wasn't wicked difficult, but her motivation for it had been zapped, none the less.
Regardless of her displeasure, Alkawari moved back to the table on unwilling feet reclaiming the formally abandoned seat across from Aito, but after how close they had just been, she felt miles away. The warmth that seeped from him like a hot water bottle was absent and she felt the absence of heat on her side more than ever. Of course this wasn't saying much, Alkawari was always cold in this damned country.
"This is ridiculous." She sighed looking at the massive passage about compatability she had to copy from the book. With a grin she laid a pointer finger on her text and swirled it across the page leaving a red glowing path that sucked up the letters onto the page before placing it on her own parchment and carefully laying down the text on her paper.
"See how much easier this is than all that latin stuff" She said partially to herself. It was a simple spell she learned as a child that tribal teachers used to enchant the drawings on walls and skins to tell stories. She found it much more practical than most of the magic she learned here.
