Noxie skipped, a wooden box bouncing in her hands as her hair flopped behind her, messy and full of leaves as it usually was. She had been having a particularly good week with the weather being so nice, meaning she was able to get outside whenever she had free time. At the moment, she was quite excited. First, she had spent lunch time climbing trees until it was time to head back in for class, then she'd seen her new friend, Sophia, in the hallway, and now, she was on a mission to play a game of Gobstones with her best mate. Not that she had told him that yet, but she figured it'd be okay, right? She only had the partial set she'd manage d to gather throughout the years from students who had grown too old to play such a silly little child's game, but it still worked to play a short game. She only had one big Snapper too, but that was alright, she and Zeke Noble could share.
Zeke, the boy who managed to produce the unique honey happy bubbles that flowed so wonderfully through Noxie'a heart. She always got very happy when it was time to see him, or when she hunted him down. Their relationship had been a bit strained lately though, the grey cloud hovering over their heads solely resting on the Hufflepuff's shoulders. It had been several weeks since Noxie had returned from the hospital, and she still had no answer for Zeke on whether she wanted to.. To... Oh, she couldn't even think about it properly without her cheeks turning red! She had been trying though, she really had. She'd even tried talking to Sophia about the difference between love and lust to try and get her head a little more straight when it came to... To certain delicate circumstances. She understood better now, that the two could go together, so long as you didn't allow the lust to overcome the love, which was what Noxie's mother did. That was why she was constantly seeking out men to sleep with. She still hadn't determined yet though, if she was willing to take the risk of telling Zeke that yes, she wanted something else with him, or if she even felt that way about him. One was supposed to feel about equally when entering such a relationship after all... At least, that's what Noxie had gathered from her new friend. It had actually been rather helpful, that conversation.
Coming around the corner, Noxie watched the nearest classroom door, knowing othe boy who made her so happy and confused and made her brain go fuzzy all at once, was inside it. The bell rang, and she flattened herself against the wall, as the tide of students flowed around her. She kept her eyes on the door, moving closer to it and jumping up to see if she could spot him. She wouldn't last long though, not in a hallway this busy... She'd become overwhelmed much too quickly. But she was willing, more so than usual lately, to brave the sea of students who normally had her running for the hills, just to get to Zeke. She needed to be around him... It made everything inside her happy, even when things were a bit awkward between them ever since...
Well, ever since he'd admitted to liking her as more than just a mate. The amount of pressure Noxie felt every time she was around him, to make a decision, give him an answer, because making him wait wasn't fair of her, not that he hold her that. But she could sense it, in the way he held himself around her. There was a lot less touching than there used to be and he didn't smile as easily. She hoped she'd figure it out soon though... He'd told her that 'whatever is fine' for her to make her decision. However, she'd responded that she would try to give him one by the time the dandelions bloomed, and then they'd gone in search of pudding.
Except, the dandelions had bloomed, just this morning... And she still had no answer for him.
Finally seeing the familiar hair of her best mate's head, Noxie smiled, waving an arm in the air as she clutched her Gobstones box close to her chest. "Z!"
