“Really? That’s… That’s fabulous! And I’m flattered you think so, So-phi-ah.“ The Gryffindor’s mouth whispered the beautiful girl’s name, her voice cupping each syllable and surrounding it with love in a way that she rarely ever did. It was usually reserved for her mother or whatever new baby one of her cousins had popped out. Occasionally she would do it to Eveleen, especially when first seeing her during the summer or on the train back to school… It was a special thing, only given to those she truly cared for the way her heart was telling her she cared for this amazing Hufflepuff. Huh… a Hufflepuff. She had not pegged herself falling for one of those, and yet, now that she thought about it… well, she wouldn’t have had it any other way. However, there was a more pressing matter at hand… namely the one rising in her stomach.
If Ember had needed a cold shower before, she definitely needed to drop herself in the still melting lake now. Sophia’s words flung into her heart, feeding the wild fire within her like one-hundred percent oxygen. Her entire being was exploding with the sheer absolute pure joy Sophia’s simple sentence had nailed into her emotionally, though she was not showing it outwardly. According to Sophia, Ember’s hugs were the best thing in the world. It sent her head reeling with such happiness she felt like she might just lose all control and actually kiss the girl she currently held in her arms. The Gryffindor even began to pull away slightly, licking gently at her own lips in preparation, her body acting all on it’s own at this point, following her heart instead of the smart part of her brain that was screaming at her to behave.
And then Ember felt something tug at her ear and winced as she was drawn rapidly, and terribly, back to reality. ”Don’t move a moment, love. My earring has gone and gotten caught in your hair.” The Gryffindor laughed, shifting until she found the long, brown culprit and worked at gently untangling it from the golden snitch shaped stud poking out of her earlobe. Once free, she pulled away, grinning brightly, her cheeks pink. ”There. C‘mon, it‘s getting chilly.” Ember released Sophia, as much as she absolutely did not want to, and rose to her feet. She picked up their plates, tucked them under one arm, and flung her other around her mate, gently knocking their heads together. ”I’ll drop you off at your common room.”
