The Birds and the Bees...

Meg stared at the Black Lake, lost in her own meandering thoughts. They lingered on Matt and his new found friends, on whether or not they could actually be trusted. Meg had found that most people hid layers of bad choices under a thin vernier of good intentions, so without actually looking inside their heads, it was difficult to know if they could be trusted. It was times like this, when her brother's safety was on the line, that Meg found it particularly difficult to follow the rules for her gift that she and her mother had agreed upon. Lysander was the only one she'd read, since he'd given her permission, but it was only things he wanted to show her, not the things that might be dangerous to her brother. Still, her mother's logic was sound. You couldn't just go around invading people's privacy like that, it wasn't right.
Lysander had asked her to come out here to meet him so they could talk. He hadn't specified then what about, but Meg could definitely guess. Lysander, like her, was all but all but completely uninterested in the sexual things most teenagers their age obsessed over. Unlike Meg, who had her mother's wisdom and trust, Lysander was too afraid to talk about it, since he'd had some bad experiences when it had been revealed. Meg had offered her help with this gladly, as well as her own listening ear. Admittedly, she also wanted to get to know Lysander to determine if he was genuine in his offer to help and keep an eye on her brother. If he was going to be a problem, Meg wanted to be prepared for that.
It was unlikely, but Meg was very protective. Her brother had not had the best of childhoods, due to his constant visions, and Meg was determined to help him gain some semblance of control, for his own sanity.
