-PHYSICAL INFORMATION-
What colour are their eyes, hair and skin? : James has a mess of dark hair that always appears to be scruffy. He has dark chocolate eyes, a long nose and clear skin that goes ghastly pale around the full moon. James wears glasses often.
How do they dress? : James wears a lot of muggle clothing, particularly button downs and long coats.
Do they wear makeup? : No.
Height? : 5’9
Do they resemble any family members? : James resembles his mother mostly though does not take after her athletic build.
What is their best physical feature? : James’s dark hair or puppy-like eyes are the first thing you would notice. Even though he isn’t a stunner on the outside, on the inside he is a wonderful person.
What is their most flawed physical feature? : James has a gangly build; he has hardly any muscle on him. He is very thin in comparison to most men.
-FAMILY INFORMATION-
Where are they from? : London.
Describe their past history: James was a smart child growing up. He didn’t immediately leap into things, instead he took the longer yet safer route and considered all possibilities. His mother was very loving, though it was hard for her to bring up a child by herself. James was an accident though his mother tells him she wouldn’t change it for the world. She has no idea who the father is.
When James was in 3rd year, he was attacked by a werewolf on the holidays. He had been walking home from in the dark around midnight. James had been stargazing with his telescope from the neighbourhood park. James does not remember most of it but from that day on he struggled to come to terms with his new “condition”.
At school, he would “go home and see his sick mother” every month. This involved taking a wolfsbane potion and hiding out in the Room of Requirement which transformed into a sound proof room for him. James would chain his legs or arms so the wolf would not escape. Sometimes the wolf would claw at the chains around its ankles or wrist leaving James with faint scars. This only happened when he took the potion too late or too early.
Nowadays as an adult, James has perfected the art of the potion and can curl up underneath his bed and fall asleep. You would think that such a terrible condition would make James suicidal, moody or aggressive but James is the complete opposite. He is still the same kind hearted boy he was before the incident. In fact, this opened his eyes more to despicableness and a torment his conditions is which made him determined to be a better person because of it.
Who are their parents? : Rose Darcy.
Do they have any siblings? : It is completely possible that James has half-siblings he does not know about.
Do they have any children? : James decided a long time ago not to share his “condition” with anyone, for fear of hurting or killing someone. Even though he yearns for a relationship and confiding with someone about his werewolf side, he decided it is best to keep everyone away.
Is there any history of mental illness in their family? : Not that he knows of.
-PERSONAL INFORMATION-
What do they hate? : Telling lies. It may be simple but it hurts every time he lies about where he goes each month to friends because he doesn’t want to lose them. He hates how people trust him so much.
What do they love? : James loves his mother; they have a very close relationship even though she is getting old. He is incredibly loyal to her. His mother still tells him there has to be someone out there who would accept him for who he was but James doesn’t want to put that weight on another person’s shoulders.
What can they not live without? : Either his trusty wolfsbane potion or his mother.
What is their most traumatic memory? : The first time James changed into a werewolf is a memory he would like to forget. The pain almost knocked him out as claws ripped through his skin, replacing his fingers, how his jaw cracked and lengthened against his will and how is back arched and fur sprouted from his skin. It was worse than the attack.
What is their happiest memory? : Coming home on the holidays to his mother was pretty great for James. Hogwarts was fine, but he tried to avoid close relationships there so he didn’t get along with some kids.
Describe their personality: As said above, James is a very happy and kind person even with his circumstances. He is kind of geeky which is funny with his werewolf side. His mother often says “A werewolf who folds his socks and wears glasses, forgive me if I’m not afraid!”. When he feels that someone is getting too close or two pushy he breaks off the relationship even though it breaks his heart. James is a devoted person and is very loyal, he is the type of person who could cheer up anyone’s day if he tried. He is an incredibly quick learner which is probably why he was in Ravenclaw.
What would be a stranger’s first impression of them be? : If someone saw James in the non-wizarding world it would be pretty hard to differentiate him from muggles. If you met him he would be gracious and incredibly polite though somewhat distant. If they got to know him I do not doubt they would be rather surprised that a person like him would be a fearsome creature.
How would you, the writer, describe them? : James is a warm hearted and hates to hurt someone’s feelings. He is the most insistent at apologising if the art is needed. I think he needs someone to lean on as he holds a lot of weight on his shoulders as it is. Someone smart enough to figure his wolfishness out but determined and loyal enough to stick by his side would be an alright match for him. James may exclude himself from society to an extent but I think he would benefit more if he could talk about his condition.
