Jill's heart was beating so fast she though it would come out her chest. You're crazy, she kept telling herself, absolutely bonkers. Still Jill couldn't help herself, the questions left unanswered, the questions provoked were to much for the girl to bear. So she gave into her impulse and snuck out of Ravenclaw tower unseen. If there was one thing her three older brothers had taught her it was you're not in trouble if you don't get caught, and Jill had become very good at not getting caught sneaking around her own manor house late at night as well. At home though it was different, the first year had learned, at home there was brothers to blame and Daddies to go on easy on you. At Hogwarts the rules were clear and teachers not yet bendable. She had to be careful.
Jill made it to the library and crept through the door that was open a sliver. This itself was alarming but since there was no light coming from inside she made it a convenience. Jill kept to the shadows, her body nearly scraping the bookcases as she scampered past them towards the stares. Up she went on feet that had learned to be soundless, carrying he light weight quickly and efficiently. Once up she went along the rail till she was looking over restricted section. Jill took a deep breath before she forced herself into a handstand on the rail pleased that finally all those damned dance classes she'd been forced to take were paying off. She balanced a moment before flipping an catching the molding to break her short fall so her landing would be soft. The first year paused a moment to look out over the Library for any other late night visitors letting the bleaching moon light that filtered in through the large windows to her left aid her eyes. The coast was clear and so she proceeded.
Jill cursed silently as her sneakers squeaked against the polished wood of the book case tops. Once in a while the librarian would catch a sneaky student hiding behind a bookshelf, but rarely did anyone look on top. Jill walked until she was on a book shelf with thick molding which she used as rungs of a latter to climb down. Jill breathed a sigh of relief, she hadn't seen anyone on top and felt she was in the clear. The first year went to turn a corner, tawny hair swinging out beside her until she walked into something malleable and person sized, causing her to turn fast and scamper half way back up the bookshelf.
