Ssss...
Life is good right now, the youngling Rotburns attend the massive school known as Hogwarts, the Head of the family is toiling away with his brother at the manor, and I fill my belly with frogs here at the Black Lake.
But something is missing... I remember my last master; a human bent on the sole task to obeying the orders of the wizard named Voldemort. Sorrowful at the demise of his Dark Lord, my master brooded at the manor for years until finally he snapped.
We were invincible up to that one night, he and I. True predators hunting down muggles and leaving their remains as traps to Aurors and Hitwizards alike. Invincible, until that very last battle. Just two years ago I became blind in both eyes by an attack that left my master Maverick bound in ropes to be hauled off to the ministry.
Still I can feel it... my former master dwells in a place of stone and death. Azkaban. Now I follow a new master, one of his sons, but I know...
I can feel it you see...
Maverick is alive and biding his time to enact revenge on those who captured him, but furthermore, revenge on the one who killed the Dark Lord, the Potters.
So I wait here, I eat frogs, and I hiss at birds. I mock the sounds of foolish youngling conversations and I revel in the day where I might be needed by my vengeful master once more.
