He chuckled when she asked about Abby, recalling the number of things she had done that had almost gotten her expelled. "There was so much, she was so rebellious despite her young age. She never wore her uniform right, always had a shirt untucked or a hole in her tights. One time she threw a chair at a teacher. It was plastic and child sized, of course but still, the teacher had a decent sized lump on her shoulder from where it hit her," he shook his head, still in awe of his spunky little sister.
Sage spoke about her childhood, about her family with so much love it made his throat dry. He had loved his family like that once. When he was a child, before that night, when his parents still seemed to want to be around them. Before his they had become even more vacant in their lives because of what happened to Spencer. He couldn't help but feel that they were disgusted by him, that every time they looked at him all they saw were the dirty memories that were forever burned in their memories. He hated himself for it. He laughed when she commented about how she had turned her brother's face green. "I know, I was the same way with Abby at first but I couldn't imagine my life without her now. Her and I are so different but I would literally do anything for her." It was true, he had practically raised the girl. There wasn't much he wouldn't do for her. "Isn't it crazy how much you can come to care for somebody?" he asked, meeting the Gryffindor's eyes for the millionth time, although they still had the same effect on his heart rate. Every time he looked at Sage something inside of him ignited, he wasn't sure what it was but the feeling was incredible. He knew then, as he stared at her, that he wanted something more with this girl. He needed to be around her, with her - whatever - he didn't care, as long as she was there.
