The evening air was chilly and Maddie shivered against the cool breeze as she made her way across the grounds of Hogwarts. It was just after supper time and the sun was beginning to set over the horizon, causing the sky to fade into a mixture of orange and pink, creating a beautiful sight as she walked. She tucked her hands into the sleeves of her jacket to keep them warm while she headed towards her destination - the Forbidden Forest.
She probably should have been back at the castle completing her homework for the next day but something had drawn her to the forest. Logan had told her that he enjoyed coming here once in a while because of his love for magical creatures and she hadn't seen him at dinner and he wasn't in the library, so she decided to go looking for him and figured this would be the best place to start. Maddie wanted to know what he found so special about it. The only kind of feelings she got when she was near the trees were a sense of discomfort and fear. The woods weren't the type of place that she would normally like to be but if Logan was there, she would gladly stay.
Her lips were still tingling from their kiss in the Astronomy Tower and the sensation only seemed to grow whenever she saw him. She wasn't sure what they were exactly but having a label put on them was the least of her concerns. They were still getting to know each other and she was fine with taking things slow.
As she approached the entrance to the woods she spotted a familiar figure standing just outside the forest line. His back was to her but she recognized the tall, broad frame immediately. Warmth suddenly filled her body and she couldn't help the wide grin that spread on her face. "I thought I'd find you down here," she said when she was close enough for him to hear.
