"Yes. That's excellent." Eveleen said sparing the fourth year Ravenclaw boy beside her a smile. She checked off the arithmancy work in front of her before handing back the ink scratched parchment. The boy, a fair boy with light eyes and dark hair took it back, his cheeks a bit pink at the praise.
"How did the potions lab go?" Eveleen asked the boy. He shrugged and looked away sheepishly causing Eveleen to raise an eyebrow.
"Let me see it." Eveleen demanded in an even voice, her face having grown serious. The boy leaned over and dug in his bag until he returned with a neatly folded piece of parchment. Eveleen stared steadily at him, unflinching but the younger Ravenclaw would not meet her eyes. Eveleen took the parchment from an outstretched hand and held it in front of her for a moment.
"No matter what this says, you need to try your hardest again next time, Okay?" She asked, with a rather prim tone, anticipating the an 'Acceptable' or below. Eveleen opened the parchment slowly, hesitant to see the grade that reflected her tutoring but she was pleasantly surprised when she did as the elder Ravenclaw was greeted by a large, purple, 'O' for outstanding.
"Colin this is wonderful, you were barely passing before!" Eveleen cheered quietly, throwing an arm around his shoulders.
"You nearly gave me a heart attack, you complete arse, making me think you did bad." Eveleen scolded playfully before giving Colin a proper hug. He hugged her back, hesitantly and in that slightly awkward way with which fourteen year old boys do anything around girls before muttering a thank you.
"Congratulations Colin, truly exceptional work." Eveleen praised again drawing back and growing more professional. "Now I only think you need to work on History of Magic next time, but that class is just facts really, only a matter of studying." She explained giving her tutoree a knowing look. He was rather lazy when it came to studying, though quick to learn how to do things. Unfortunately in History of Magic, one didn't need to have particular skill except for memory, and if not, one simply was left with no other option besides rigorous study.
"Ah, what time is it?" Eveleen said suddenly, mostly to herself as she looked down at her watch. It was almost dinner time and she and Duane had plans to hang out, seeing how hard it was to get around her responsibilities and classes, Eveleen didn't want to be late and waste any time she had to be with her boyfriend.
"I need to go" Eveleen said to Colin putting her books back in her bag before pushing in her chair. "And you need to get to dinner." she added.
"And where is it you're going then?" Colin asked with risen eyebrows.
"To meet with my boyfriend, we have plans," Eveleen explained, already heading for the door. Colin caught up falling into step beside his tutor.
"Boyfriend?" He asked slightly shocked. Eveleen had a smart sense of humor and a fair personality but she didn't seem the type for romance. At least Colin had never thought of her that way. . .
"Yes." said Eveleen her stomach tightening slightly whenever she talked bout Duane, "Tall, dark, handsome, the whole package." Eveleen said jokingly with a grin, though she did believe her boyfriend to be the 'whole package'.
"Tall?" reiterated Colin, a dark eyebrow arched, "Everyone's taller than you Eveleen, that says nothing about him."
"Colin!" gasped Eveleen quietly in mock horror, pulling open the library door as he playfully knocked her, Eveleen's face lit up slightly as she noticed a familiar tall figure looming near by.
"Hey." She greeted Duane brightly.
