Luke didn't even give her a chance to protest before he draped the jacket over her shoulders, telling her that he wasn't cold. The look on his face told her not to argue and quite frankly, she couldn't find the will to do it anyways. She was swimming in the coat but it was incredibly warm and smelled of him and she couldn't resist pushing her arms through she sleeves and zipping it up, reveling in the warmth that enveloped her entire body. "Thank you," she told him quietly and offered him a smile. His fingers had practically lit her skin on fire and she was trying desperately to ignore the constant tingling.
He dug his large hands into the pockets of his trousers as he gave her an excuse as to why he wasn't going back inside and she couldn't help but get a feeling that he wasn't being entirely truthful but she didn't look into it any further. She was grateful to just be around him again and she wasn't going to push him to go back inside, especially if that would mean taking his coat back. She had nearly forgotten that he had seen her walk out until he asked about what had happened inside. Evie took a deep breath and wiped her eyes again. "My friends were....well, you saw how Veronica was acting. I just....I didn't want to be around her anymore so I left," she confessed to him but she wasn't sure why she was being so honest but she couldn't lie to him. She wanted him to know about what had happened, or at least why they were both currently standing in the street outside of the pub. "Are you sure you don't want to get back inside? I don't want you to feel obligated to stay out here with me." That wasn't true of course. She wanted him to stay out there with her more than anything.
