What The Effing Hell...

Kaiden watched the exchange between the women for a moment, focusing his attention mostly on his feet. Once the pizza was paid for and the delivery lady had left, Kaiden followed after Harper, heading into the back room and watching from the door way as she flopped right on down on the floor. She was something else, this girl was. She’d literally just yelled what appeared to be an overly handsy ex boyfriend out of the shop, cried, and now here she was, only a little bit later, acting like it hadn’t happened at all. Lots of people would have allowed something like that to rattle them for a while, not just brush it off to the side as Harper appeared to be doing. It was actually… quite impressive, if Kaiden was honest with himself. A lot of people tended to be too delicate for their own good, and the fact that Harper seemed able to hold her own as well as get over a bad situation quickly made him not hate her so much.
Reaching out, Kaiden took a slice of the pizza, nearly singing his fingers as the cheese caught on his skin. He quickly dropped it onto a plate and then sat down, setting the plate on the floor in front of him and crossing his legs as well. He reached out, picking off a bit of sausage before popping it into his mouth, his stomach letting out a slight growl of appreciation. He knew he’d have to try and remember to pack a lunch from now on, but he was actually rather grateful for Harper’s idea of getting pizza… and that she had no problem sharing it. He lifted his slice, holding it up. ”Thanks. I‘m sure it was a terribly painstaking process picking up the phone and pressing buttons. Truly, probably the most difficult job anyone has ever done in their entire life.” And then bit into it. It was absolutely delicious, probably the best pizza he’d ever had. The cheese to sauce to meat to crust ratio was just right, perfection in the form of something seemingly so simple. It was hot of course, normally he preferred his pizza room temperature, the cheese slightly congealed, but he was so hungry and it was so good he didn’t care about that at the moment.
Kaiden paused for a moment, relishing his bite before properly chewing and swallowing it down. He blinked, staring at his slice before taking another chunk out of it and releasing a groan. ”Fuck, I know I like pizza more than all people. Where the hell did you order from?”
