She flicked her wand, drawing the heavy, velvet curtains closed shut over the tall windows, leaving the room momentarily lightless for the exception of the faint glow of the waning moon. Then with another swish of her wand the scones on the walls ignited, bathing the room in warm, rich, yellow light. There were candles of every size, shape and color with wax dipping and collecting thickly around their base, scattered upon her large, oak desk, giving it the look of a cathedral, like some sort of ceremonious ritual was about to take place, her desk serving as a makeshift alter. Dendera stood stiffly with good posture, her dark hands folded behind her back and sharp, brown eyes transfixed on the top of the spiral, iron staircase as she waited for the students to begin shuffling up into the tower. On the blackboard behind her was the neatly written, short and simple instruction, 'Turn to page 692'.
